Once a cheat, always a cheat

From following this whole Margarita's-titanium-infused-nuclear-hand-wraps affaird, the most common theme seems to be that his entire career has to be called into question now, specifically his fight with Cotto. I find that interesting and don't neccessarily disagree with it either.

So, in running with that theme, lets get a list of one time cheaters going, so as we can make sure we know who we should be thinking twice about when re-watching old fights of theirs. For example, when I watch Margarito vs Popgun Gomez now, I wonder...how could popgun take such a shellacking from Shane Mosley (CLEAN@!!) all those years ago, yet fall in one to Margarito? Now we know.

Evander Holyfield - poison glover and roid head for the better part of two decades

Ricardo Mayorga - Masking agent to hide his UGLY FACE
Frans Botha - You thought he was a natural white buffalo? WRONG

Cup "cheating" isn't fitting here, I don't think. It doesn't need to be proven or disproven, because we can see if. Im talking about cheating with the intention of not being caught. Underhandedness. Like stealing from the jelly bean jar....something iM ABOUT TO DO NOW.

 

The Pacquiao fight. Manny and Roach were complaining that Manny was actually at 147 and when they weighed in they were at 144.

 

But did anything actually come out, or was it just their camp crying about it? I remember the inccident, but it seemed more about pre-fight stirring than anything serious.

I'm always happy to drag down De La Hoya though, so we'll add him in there...for fight fixing more than anything else.

Forbes v Hopkins being the first reference point. Penalosa v Ponce the second. Same night too.

Panama Lewis/Luis Resto= padding removed, Plaster of Paris.

Actually Resto did it at least 3 times, so I guess that's more of a "thrice a cheat, always a cheat".

Nah I think the whole deal with Croft was the WBC ranked a blind guy, who hadn´t fought in three years or won a bout in five years, within their top 15 to make it a title fight. Unless you are refering to another fight/incident you can´t specify, but at least you are keeping it fair and firm here. :nono:

Nah, I do remember the video of the weigh in and the cracks like "Poor Croft, he couldn't tell if they were cheating or not. He couldn't even tell what his wife look like".

It's a long time ago though, but I remember a string of Top Rank fighters (Rafa, Arce and Morales) all had weird shit happen at their weigh ins all around the same time.

In regards to the cup issue:

Im not interested in low blows, head butts, high cups, spitting of mouth peice, holding, elbows, spin kicks, backing like a dog...none of it. Just underhanded shit, usually done before you get into the ring. The Pryor case is rare, because his trainer pulled that stunt on TV.

Okay. My bad, admittedly I didn't read every post on here before making that one. To be honest I don't consider what Coralles did as cheating and in fact argued against it. It was only because all the Castillo lovers were so adamant that he cheated that I mentioned it.
