Wonder how dull this fight could have been if Karo was straight. I also wonder if Joe Rogan will still be all over his nuts.

UFC veteran welterweight Karo Parisyan, who last competed on Jan. 31 in a victory over Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 94, tested positive for multiple prescription painkillers at the event.

Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer today emailed news of the failed test to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

According to Kizer, Parisyan tested positive for the banned substances hydrocodone, hydromorphone and oxymorphone.

Parisyan, who defeated Kim via close split decision, could now be subject to a suspension and fine from the NSAC. The fight could also be overturned from a victory to a no-contest, though Kizer told MMAjunkie.com no decisions have been made on either front.

In addition to Parisyan, other UFC 94 fighters tested for steroids and drugs of abuse included Georges St. Pierre, B.J. Penn, Lyoto Machida, Thiago Silva, Clay Guida, Jon Jones, Jake O'Brien, John Howard, Thiago Tavares, Stephan Bonnar and Nate Diaz.

All competitors except Parisyan tested negative.

UFC 94 took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and aired live on pay per view.

If they tested for it i assume it's a banned substance.

Does it make any difference whatsoever if he was using medication that was actually prescribed to him?

I doubt he'd have legit presciptions for hydrocodone, hydromorphone and oxymorphone all at the same time, but just wondering anyhow.

It wouldn't matter if he had a prescription for them. If you are on any presciption meds, you are to report it to the commission before the fight. They will make a decision on whether you can fight or not. In this case though the drugs he was on are pain killers so he would not have been approved to fight anyway.

I've always hated Karo, he's the cockiest fucker on earth and I just can't stand his attitude. I hope he's booted from the UFC.

Karo has been a mess outside the ring for quite sometime now. I knew he would fail this test, if he was tested.

do you know him? I have heard similar, but it was from different fighters and such. I have never seen Karo in person, but yeah, he is way too cocky for not even being at the top 5 of the division

From what I can find on the web, he went to the Olympic trials and that's as far as he made it. He has some junior national titles.

    Not world class.

    .....

I don't know for that fight although he looked like shit there to.
Regardless, I knew Shogun wasn't exactly in great shape against Griffin. I still figured he would win because I underestimated Griffin. Here was my PM to Mexican Wedding Shirt at the time....

    Shogun....
<HR style="COLOR: #dedad0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #dedad0" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->As of last week his training camp hadn't been the best. I know because he was in Hawaii with "Ninja". My good friend has good contacts with TJ Thompson,Shaw and whatever other promoters are around there. I still expect him to win but it makes me wonder WTF is going on. of course you didn;t hear that from me :nono:
