RETURN TO WITCH MOUNTAIN (1978) I always knew that Disney films from the 70's were crap, but had no idea how crappy this film was. It was released one year after STAR WARS and CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND changed movies forever with their revolutionary special effects. So at least visually it couldn't be that bad and after all it starred Christopher Lee and Hollywood legend Bette Davis. Oh boy was I wrong! Not only the few special effects were fake and lame (maybe in 1950 they would had been acceptable), but the plot was so ridiculous, the child actors and many grown ups too couldn't act shit and even these two great thespians roles were so uninteresting and cliche that I feel pity for their careers for having this turkey in their resume. Particularly Bette Davis was not only underused, but her role was such a one dimensional caricature that you couldn't help noticed how bored she looked through the whole thing. I hope that next month's remake with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is not as bad as this, but the trailer looks very similar (ouch! at least there will be no gang of runaway kids and a 'hero' goat). This atrocity should had never been put on DVD. The only rewarding thing about it was the 'lost interview with Christopher Lee' which surprisingy demostrated how fluent is Mr. Lee speaking spanish. 2/10

Lee is actually fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, French and German, and speaks some Russian, Greek and Swedish. He's a very talented guy, and a great actor.

Indeed. There are few actors as talented as Lee. He is also a tenor and can sing operas. He was a champion at fencing and at equestrian show jumping. Too bad he has always being typecasted as a villain. He could had done great dramatic roles. He is now, how old? 88 years old? (he was 80 when Fellowship Of The Rings was released) and still can play memorable roles as Saruman (LOTR) and Count Dooku (STAR WARS Episodes 2 & 3).

You're probably right. I just saw Benjamin Button and it was garbage. Very fatalist and drawn out. I give it a 5/10. It seems like they wrote drama just for the sake of drama.

HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU Saint Valentine's Day perfect date movie. This chick flick comedy is actually very entertaining. I watched it last night with my wife and we had to ride to another theater location to catch a showing since the previous one was sold out. In the one we finally watched it got jam packed by the time the film started. And it was a mixed audience, meaning there were teens, young adults and mature couples watching it. It turned out to be a crowd pleaser. Sure, it is not a perfect film and it is very predictable, but the actors and the way the film develops the characters is well executed. The most interesting stories were the ones about this irremediably love obsessed girl, Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin in a star-turning performance) who always gets infatuated with the wrong guys who will never call her (the funniest segment btw) and the Scarlett Johanssen segment where she has the hots for this married guy who has never been unfaithful to his control freak bitchy wife (Jennifer Connelly looking as anorexic as ever). It was a real treat watching Scarlett as this young sexy siren trying very hard to seduce this guy. The Ben Affleck-Jennifer Aniston segments and the Drew Barrymore segment were the least interesting, but since all the characters were 'connected' somehow, they served their purpose. This is a chick flick that can be enjoyed by all audiences. Take your significant other out on a date to watch and she will be grateful (you can thank me later *wink*) 9/10

I hate to admit it but more often than not chick flicks like this tend to be pretty good. There's no way in hell I'm going to watch it though.

    Che Part I 9/10

The final 35 minutes of this movie is awesome. Everything in this movie is very detailed oriented (except one scene i swear i saw a bar code on a bomb, dont forget this is the 1950s).

The movie focused on Ernesto Guevara's days in the rebel forces, as Fidel's right hand man, against the corrupted Cuban leader Fulgencio Batista. How he dealt with slackers in his forces as well as building his forces based on discipline.

They say Part II is not as good as Part I, osfan will find out in a few weeks.

New Transformers movie looks off the hook and it's by Michael Bay so that's enough to get excited over. It seems like it's taking a darker turn which would make it even better.

SISTER STREET FIGHTER (1974) An indirect sequel to STREET FIGHTER, but as much fun. Starring japanese babe Etsuko Shihomi, an 18 year old girl so cute that you might confuse her with the typical gshy young girl who is the romantic interest for the lead guy genre cliche. Instead she is no ones romantic interest, she kicks butt with smashing skills and more fury than her little frame allows. The plot as usual is non-important. Just any excuse in the book for the next fight scenes. Shiomi is challenged by colorful enemies worth of an anime film but she dispatches them quickly in savage fashion. As it was the case with STREET FIGHTER this film is pretty gory for its time, but by today's standarts it looks ridiculous. Sonny Chiba does has a minor role here but is memorable. Not a great film, but fun to watch those fight scenes which sometimes you can see from where Tarantino was inspired for KILL BILL's action scenes. 7/10

That's because many people can no longer separate an actor with his personal life. One of the ways modern media sucks.

I imagine it was a lot easier to buy into the fantasy 30 years ago when we weren't bombarded with celebrity gossip and behind the scenes features all the time.

30 years ago the main role would probably had gone to De Niro. It would be a classic movie.

I don't know why.... I guess there is not enough explosions and fire works but I thought it was a really good movie - I never knew about the attempt until the movie.

Really? Maybe you felt asleep during the History lessons. There have been tv documentaries about this too. The first one that I can remember was in the 70's in a IN SEARCH OF episode narrated by Leonard Nimoy.

    Ken Park. 2/10

A friend of mine roped me into watching it this weekend. "It was banned" he says which apparently means it rules.

It did not. It was a shitfest. Waaaay to much wang in that film.

The two points it gets are for the awesome titties on the mother who cops head from her daughter's boyfriend.

Yes, the film is as fucked as it sounds.
