The guy is simply dumb as a match box! They shoulda never canned Roy. I dont care how many fucking prep sessions Roy missed, Jones has more intelligence in one of his ball hairs than Lewis has. This big, gay oaf is just PAINFUL to listen to.

I knew you'd come on here and ride his dick as usual. Outside of Roy's arrogance, and at times praising himself on telecasts, he was excellent. Gave great analysis on how a fight was going down, how the fight would progress, what a guy needs to do to turn things around, ect.. and did so in a far more articulate manner than Lewis. Lummox stumbles on his words, and just isnt articulate enough to be a commentator. What the hell does he offer to the telecast? He never states anything that isnt extremely obvious, he remains there on his name ALONE. He fooled the boxing world for years into thinking he's some intelligent, articulate guy, but hearing him as a commentator now its apparent that he's not the brightest bulb.

Xplosivie, a former boxing champion who still has his wits and his money is no fool. :nono: Roy on the other had is making a mockery of himself long after his prime.
Commentating takes skill. You need the gift of gab and not everybody has it. I agree Lewis isn't natural at this job. I think Bernard Hopkins would be a good commentator seeing his good job at the Trinidad/Joppy fight.

Somebody needs to step up to Lewis, punch him in the face and tell him to STFU.

How come every boxer is an expert at giving analysis from the outside but yet when they're in the ring, they're making all sorts of mistakes which they themselves criticize?
    Everbody is an expert.

Joe Mesi is Better...Sharmba Mitchell is Better...BJ Flores is Better...Steve Cunningham...Bernard Hopkins is Better...John Scully is Better...REED could Go on for DAYS, Listing BETTER Commentators than Lennox...

Yeah, I like Lennox the fighter............but a commentator he is not.

There's gotta be at least a dozen other boxers to choose from to fill this role who would do a better job. Off the top of my head, leaving Roy out because as good as he is he obviously is not very professional about showing up whenever he feels like it.

    John Scully
    Kevin Kelly
    Joe Mesi
    Bernard Hopkins
Kendall Gill (Ok, only a part-time boxer but he impressed me on FNF)

I'm sure there's plenty more I can't think of at the moment.

To American Ears, Having a British Accent Gives Off the IMPRESSION of Intelligence...When a Brit Speaks, REED Thinks of ARISTOCRACY, Prince Charles, Lady Di, Oxford & All that Shit...So Lennox Got the BENEFIT of the Doubt BECAUSE of his Accent...

But N REALITY, he's as DUMB as a Box of Rocks...It's SAD when a COUNTRY BOY like Roy is MORE Articulate w/the English Language than an Actual ENGLISHMAN is...

Possibly but looking at them now, Lennox ain't the dumbf*ck thinking he's still in his prime and fighting crap like Omar Shieka in pointless fights and embarrassing himself in the process in his 40s.:atu:

Roy's got a lot of practice in commentary. Seeing how good he was at talking sh*t for years and not doing sh*t but milking an HBO contract, you gotta have good skills in selling yourself to the public.

This is a COMMENTARY Thread, Hanz...ABUSING Laughing Emoticons & Throwing Roy Jones Under the Bus Doesn't Alter the FACT that Lennox Lewis BLOWS as a Commentator...

Shit, Roy Jones Could Show Up UNPREPARED, Mere SECONDS B 4 the Opening Bell Rings & Give Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar MORE INSIGHT on the Match @ Hand than Lennox...

Bring Sugar Ray Leonard. I think he has redeemed himself enough by now to grab a mic again. I was never a fan of him, but he is decent as a commentator.

For his role, Lewis isn't any worse than Kellerman is in his, IMO.

I like Lewis's commentary. I feel he's honest with his thoughts and objective. He has keen insights as well but just has his own way of expressing them. I think the current team is good. Roys pig farming bama ass days have passed and Sugar Ray makes Lewis sound like a Rhodes Scholar.

Usually I can see both sides of an argument, but this one blows my mind. Lewis is just plain awful. Only a complete newcomer to the sport could gain anything from his "insight." Shit, my wife feels like he insults her boxing intelligence and she has only been watching for 4 years.

There is a long list of fighters who could do better than Lewis. Most of them have been named already, but I also think Vernon Forrest could do a great job if he goes to a little broadcasting boot camp. He's a southerner, so he does stammer a little bit. But he almost always says something intelligent when I've heard him.

And please leave max out of this. Just because Lennox was a hall of fame fighter does not make him a better BROADCASTER than Kellerman. Lennox may be more of an expert from having been in prize fights, but as a boradcaster he is nowhere in Kellerman's league.

    I didn't say as a broadcaster.

In the role of a former boxer doing commetary, he's as bad as Kellerman...a supposed commentator playing an actual commentator.

And there's a list of those who are better than him as well.

But at least those Billy Mays impressions he did last night didn't make him seem like a Joe Rogan knock-off.

Kelly is WAY too hyper to call any fights!!

I think both Pavlik and Tim Bradley would make good fight commentators after their respective careers are over. Was impressed by both of them when they were the in studio guest" on FNF!

It's true. The thing is, I don't think it has anything to do with his accent.

Lummox actually made a concerted effort to appear intelligent, with all his chess bullshit etc, but I knew he was a moron all along. Everything he said, in every press conference sounded scripted.

How they kept him on for more than a one time test broadcast is beyond me.

I'm not sure I've ever heard any commentator ever, state the obvious more than Lemon does.

He literally has the IQ of a fencepost. Actually make that - he "definitely" has the IQ of a fencepost.
