Streams You know, I thought about a year ago that the PPV streaming thing was going to become HUGE, as pretty much everyone has broadband nowadays. And it did - now you have at least 3-4 different major websites which allow you to post streamed content, justin.tv being the biggest. You also still have sopcast around, tvants, and a few other stragglers in terms of client software. Because of this I only buy GOOD ppv cards. The rest (like last night) I just find streams. But what I noticed is happening now is that people are taking advantage of this massive influx of cheapskates in order to try and make $$$. Since a good percentage of those looking for "FREE PPV!" are complete idiots, I noticed that now there are always maybe 10% of advertised streams on the well-known scheduling websites that when you get to the stream, you are told that the stream has changed and you are re-directed to another site. Usually it's a forum, where you have to register to get the "true" stream link. Then when you register, you are of course told that you must donate a mere $2.60 through paypal and then you will be sent the link. Although anyone who is not a vegetable would see through this, there seem to be an innumerable amount of vegetables on the Internet. So right about fight time, you get all these stupid, desperate, anxious dopes ponying up their $3 to see a crappy stream. In fact, I noticed that these scam artists often spam the real streams whenever there is a chat page, like on justin.tv. I bet in a given night, if you do it right, you could make $3000-$5000 and the beautiful part is that you don't even have to show the stream! Take your $$$ and run, since you bilked idiots anyway it is unlikely any of them will actually be able to do anything about it. And even if they did, they would have to consider confessing that they knowingly what they thought was an purchased an illegal PPV stream. It's just like people who sell access to ... FREE MOVIE DOWNLOADS! And then when you pay $14.95 USD you are directed to the secret website... www.thepiratebay.org.
People wonder why Boxing has lost so much interest and why we talk about it so much less. Bullshit PPV like this is the answer. Every crap fight with a semi well known fighter and an alphabet soup belt ends up a PPV these days. Total BS
