I don't disagree with any of that Karl. I don't question his work ethic, I've just never looked at him as a truly elite trainer.

 

This guy won a MD in a four rounder against a 3-3 guy? Doesnt sound worth the praise or hype.

I didn't get to see the fight, but according to what I've been hearing, it seems your critique of this kid seems to be what the issue is, though I have been hearing Yanez overtrained for this debut, I doubt it.

 

Henry Armstrong & Billy Conn LOST to Non-Descript Opposition in their Pro Debuts (Armstrong was KO'ed in Fact)...It's Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Toooooooooo EARLY to Say a Guy Is or ISN'T "Worth the Praise or Hype"...

It was a SLOPPY Fight, but Yanez Clearly Won it...The "3-3" Guy is 1 or 2 Weight Classes HIGHER than where Yanez Needs to B Fighting @ the Moment...Nonetheless, Yanez CLEARLY Won it...

I just don't think the kid is that hot, REED.

He fights with his hands at his waist and pulls back from punches, and one day, someone is going to flatten him for doing that.

His style is so basic, he feints these guys into a lead, and then leans back and tries to sucker punch them when they come with a hook, and then he'll slide off to his right.

As far as the reply concerning ESPN bro, you can ask your friend Derrick James who got pulverized in there, not losing a split decision, but waylaid and was throwing up after the fight in the dressing room.

I saw Yanez win the State Golden Gloves on a DVD, and in the Olympics, REED.

He looked well in flattening that kid in the first round in the finals, but did not look good in the Olympics, IMO.

He looks to load up with the hook to me, but I have only seen him several times.

I wish Henry would have stayed with Ronnie Shields, but Ronnie takes a bigger cut than most other trainers.

The difference in how he looked in that fight vs. Diaconu and the last one is phenomenal, he wouldn't hold his left up to block those rights, I don't see why he didn't.

REED was Invited to Hang Out @ the Post-Fight Party but Didn't...Mrs. REED was @ the Fight as Well & Wanted to Go Home...She Didn't Mind REED Dropping her Off @ the Crib & Going Back Out w/the Fellas, but REED had been DRINKING & Didn't Want to Get Behind the Wheel KNOWING he'd Drink even MORE @ the After Party...

But it was Cool...REED Kicked it w/Yanez in his Dressing Room & even Walked w/his Entourage to the Ring...A GREAT Evening, even if the Fight was LESS than Stellar...

Good stuff. I'll check it all out, Reed! Speaking of, I just watched Rihanna's music video 'Umbrella' for the first time on youtube in HD, never saw the video before, only heard the song. I'd never have taken notice of her at all if not for this Chris Brown incident. I guess it's true that any publicity is good publicity.::
Maybe Yanez should try a little showmanship/controversy to get noticed quickly. Does he have charisma like Prince Naseem did?
