This man's boxing IQ is sick. The adjustment he made tonight was slick, love the way he throws that left uppercut from the outside. He's a 35 year old that fights like he's 25 year old.

He can get old anyday at this age ,so I hope he gets the most out of it while he can.

    I'm officially a fan now.

Except when he fights Pacquiao again :nono:

unless Pacquiao lands a Mayweather fight after he beats Hatton he has to make a third JMM fight.

    I'm in.

Marquez is one of the best fighters in the sport, and with his more exciting style in recent years, I'm now officially a fan.

That adjustment is overrrated. JMM always throws that outside uppercut in nearly every rd of every fight. He was throwing that from the first rd on and the only reason it seemed like an adjustment is because he actually started landing it later.

The biggest adjustment was that Diaz's defense wasn't as consistently good from the begining of the fight up into the middle rds. That's when JMM started landing that uppercut with regularity.

I felt he robbed himsef of a more lucrative career and more chances at big name fighters by playing it safe and giving it to the judges . he should of fought this way in the first place

Like i posted in another thread, the guy is 35, has had a lot of wars and now is taking on even bigger men.

I don't think he's going to last much longer. Appreciate the guy when you can everyone.

    Viva Marquez! :partie:

Hey don't get too jealous. It was more observation than smarts. Anyway I've always been a JMM fan. First fight I saw him in was the horrible Norwood fight. Later I saw him methodically destroy Peden and was an instant fan at how skilled the guy was. He was what boxing was all about. Beautiful crisp counterpunching and ring intelligence.

Even tonight I wouldn't have rather see an aging great fighter like him lose to a pretty good young guy like Diaz just so we can have a new young fighter to take his place.

By the way, the Rockets played tonight and lost to the Bulls. Not a good night for Houston.

He was losing the fight until the KO came out. You nuthuggers get so easily impressed by a damn KO. next time he faces either Pacquiao or Hatton you will make a bunch of excuses or 'he was robbed' even if he gets his ass beaten from pillar to post. Count me in as a hater.

The year is young, but the tonight we have a very SERIOUS candidate for Fight of the Year.

Diaz had everything in his favor. Youth, hometown, ring size. His mistake was thinking he could fight his ordinary fight but Marquez is no ordinary fighter.

Pacquaio- Marquez III, 2 million PPV

judging by what he posted it is due to his extreme ignorance regarding pugilism

Well yeah, that isn't exactly rare.

However JMM is a fighter that almost nobody "hates", even Ricans.

Excuse me, Mr. Kellerman, but boxing is the most subjective sport out there. Unlike other sports where there is no doubt who wins and who loses, boxers will always have people questioning their victories and defeats. And you can either love or hate a boxer easily since it is based only on your goddamned biased perception.

Funny how someone can be a fan of a "fighter" like Calderon but not Marquez.

marquez is a true "pure boxer"

not many left but he sure is one. although he still lost to pacquiao and needs to stop whining about it. he had two tries and never put out a convincing performance.

I despise Marquez with a passion, but he's a hell of a fighter and I like watching him fight. He's easily one of the best technicians of this era.
