    Agreed.It goes both ways

Despite what Kellerman say, these two fighters are evenly matched with contrasting styles. There both great and will always have razor close fights....hell ,marquez might actually catch a break if they fight again.

    1. pacqio has indeed yet to defeat Marquez... all those fights could have gone either way, and the last one especially Marquez should have won.

    2. Joony your the man but Marquez shits on Chavez. Chave was real good! he did not have the skill and technical arate near what Marquez has though. Chavez was a classic body puncher in the Mexican tradition... wear em down variate the punches and angles and god takes care of the rest...

Marquez on the other hand punches as straight as an arrow counters better than most guys in the sport, has power and no real weaknesses. As a technician he is superb.

I have always liked Juan Manuel he being the one "jockey" I care to watch fight. and one of my perenial favorites!

There was no convincing outcome to those fights. the judges could have called the fights either way. Its an important point to consider. Dd you read the part of the post you didn't bold?

Errr...Diaz's defens wasn't "as consistently good"....because he was fighting Marquez.

JMM did adjust and use that uppercut more regularly, and shortened the distance on it too...and used both hands.

He also stopped staying on the ropes so damned much (and fought his way off when he got there in the later rounds).

He was tired though....Diaz pushed him (as he does everyone). I loved the way Diaz picked up on that left hook and really drove it home.

    Great fight.

Marquez is a great fighter....he can throw his punches down the middle...or he can shock his opponent with looping hard shots..

Fagquez is a good fighter, despite his love for asian men, and last nights fight was great.

It seems a lot of people are forgetting that Nate Campbell had an easier time versus Diaz than Marquez. Campbell maybe lost a single round if that.

Marquez was actually losing the first half of the fight against Diaz.

Yes he made adjustments, but he was losing that fight up until around the 7th-8th round.

    That doesn't make sense.

So you think it was Marquez's strategy to get hurt multiple times in the early rounds, and then come from behind in the second half of the fight?

    That sounds really stupid.

No Marquez planted his feet early knowing that if he didn't do good body work early...slowing Diaz down late would be probably impossible..

    What?

Marquez had to come from BEHIND to win this fight. It seems to two of you are trying to say it was a tactical choice. Is that what you're both saying?

Because that is a really dumb strategy.

It wasn't a tactical choice to come back from behind....but it was a tactical choice to go to the body early...w/ the downside that he might lose some of the early round...s

which is exactly why the two are called by some as "ring equals". but wait till they meet at 140 then pac is gonna whop jmm's ass. only problem is time's not on jmm's side so losing can have valid excuse.

Only problem would be Ricky Hatton beating Manny Pacquiao up...

If Pacquiao wins a 3rd time, the same excuses will pop up:

If by KO - Marquez was old/a truer featherweight/had a gay orgy before fight night

If by Decision - The judges robbed Marquez a 3rd time.

I honestly think Pacquiao will have to kill Marquez in the ring, by literally knocking his head off his neck into the 3rd row. That's the only way it'll be decisive enough for fight experts like LATIN "No One beats Arce under Batam" QUEEN, and JOONY "Mr. I once got my ass kicked by Daniel Attach while sparring so I'm awesome".

Geez, you can see that Alabama sucks Pacquiao's dick big time. Even HBO said it very clearly "MARQUEZ HAS WON MORE ROUNDS AGAINST PACQUIAO." Marquez has owned the one trick pony in both fights. Judges are simply fucking stupid or on the take. If you want to give Pacquiao the first fight, I have not problem with that. Marquez schooled Pacquiao in the second fight and was robbed. The third fight is necessary and I'm hoping this time somone doesn't leave any doubt who's the best in the world.

If you're going to ask that, then I guess it should be asked what Pacquiao's strategy was in the Morales rematch?

To get behind and then wait for Erik's legs to give out?

That's the thing, no one is claiming that Pacquiao's strategy was to "come from behind", he was getting beat and came back from behind to knock out Morales.

The Fagquez nuthuggers were claiming it was a "tactical choice" and he planned to do it that way from the beginning of the fight.

    That's fucking stupid.

So you're saying Pacquao didn't even have a strategy in the Morales rematch?

Or that the one he had simply wasn't working?

It certainly wasn't a tactical choice. Diaz was successful early, but I guess the point is, Marquez simply adapted, got into his groove, figured Diaz out and then proceeded to KHTFO.
