good shout......Urango is one tough powerhouse....he's slow and has limited skills....but he was able to outmuscle Hatton, and hurt him to the body too. If Ortiz is going anywhere, then Urango will be too ponderous to beat him....i think it would be competitive, but even if it doesn't turn out to be, at the very least Ortiz would be getting some rounds under his belt.
Yeah, Urango's a GOOD Litmus Test for Ortiz...If Ortiz Takes HIM Out Early (Or @ All), he's SPECIAL.... REED:hammert:
Ortiz was the best fighter on the card. Unlike a lot of guys here, I'm fairly reserved about prospects. I don't like to jump on a wagon TOO early, before they are tested, or while they are still just beating cans. But from what I've seen of Ortiz, he is the real deal. IF he has a decent chin, he is the best prospect/contender in boxing. Better than Angulo and the rest. Overall it was a disappointing night of fights. Kirkland at least did what he was supposed to. Good showing from James. Julio fucking sucked though. He's just not very good. Why fight on the backfoot if you can't fight on the backfoot? He was throwing arm punches and looked crap. The only success he had was when he stood his ground and threw some proper punches. It halted Kirkland's attack immediately, made him reset and become slightly cautious. Why not follow up on that? I like Guerrero, and I've said before he was underrated, but although that cut WAS bad, he wanted OUT of that fight without a second thought. The cut was bad, and if they couldn't stop the bleeding, it probably would have been stopped in a round or two anyway, I was just surprised that Rob JUMPED at the chance to stop the fight. The cut was a factor, but I think he also knew he was in for a very tough night against tricky Cino.
It's a solid fight, but Ortiz is ranked higher in some other orgs so I don't know if that's the first title he's going to fight for. I can just see him fighting someone like Malignaggi instead.
Within a year, no fucking body will think that Hatton can beat Ortiz. As of right now I'd say that Ortiz would light Hatton up.
Holt CAN punch though, and he has fast hands... those two things would make him very dangerous for Ortiz.
