Nonito Donaire versus Raul Martinez - April 18th. Too bad it's PPV. Apparently, Vic the rat has chosen to pass on avenging his decisive defeat at the hands of the rising Phillipino star, but Martinez is equally if not more formidable a test for Nonito. Also on the card is Solis versus Viloria - how many times have these guys fought? Is this their first or second rematch? They're going to have to add some fights to this card if they expect anyone to buy it, depending on its price of course. But it doesn't seem like you could ask for a better fight than Donaire/Martinez.
I don't like this fight since I like both fighters lots. I would prefer to see them against the other champs before fighting each other, but it should be good.
Just watched Donaire beat up Maldonado yesterday. The guy is a beautiful boxer with power in both hands, an apparently sturdy chin and an excellent defense. Marquez will have to throw caution to the wind and out-work Donaire on the inside if he expects to win, but it's a dangerous proposition as we saw in the Darchinyan fight.
