Seems like this is the comeback rumor from Mayweather's camp, should be happening at a catchweight of 140-147. Anyone think this fight may actually come off? I think it would be a good pay day for JMM, but he's probably going to get sent into retirement by this fight.
Mayweather really is a piece of shit if he comes back for this. I don't give two shits how great Marquez is, and he is a great fighter. He is seriuosly too small to fight at anything over 135. 140 is pushing it and I feel the only reason he would/should make that jump is to chase Pacman. Leave it to Mayweather to pick the best small guy available and drag him up to a weight he has no business at. Fuck off Floyd!
With Mosley and Cotto at 147...and bitch ass Mayweather is looking at small Marquez from 135...a very small 135 pounder...what a dick... Who can beat Mayweather? The Margarito of right now demolishes JMM. It would still be a far better fight than Mayweather and JMM even if it happened tomorrow.
i don't like it.... .....i thought the fight that would bring Mayweather back would be either the most lucrative fight out there, or the one that would present the biggest challenge......i thought that is what it would take to motivate him I'm guessing Mayweather would want the fight at least at 140, but considering that he wouldn't drop down to fight Hatton there, maybe he'll insist on 147 or a catchweight.....it is likely that Marquez would oblige. Both at their peaks at 130, this would have been sensational....but it loses a lot of its appeal at the higher weight that would surely suit Floyd......also Marquez is showing signs of his age despite currently ruling at 135. Pacquaio and Cotto are the two guys who immediately come to mind when it comes to ticking the aforementioned boxes....yet Mayweather seems content to take a smaller payday, in return for a lower-risk fight. Still, Marquez is p4p no 1, and is wiley enough to give anyone problems and also expose any ring-rust......i think a lot of people here would be willing to pay to see it. We need to hear more from the Mayweather camp before we all jump down his throat. Maybe he is just impatient. A Mayweather-Marquez fight can be made sooner than Mayweather-Pacquaio.......and Cotto-Clottey seems pretty much set too. Perhaps the intention is to fight again at the end of the year against one of Pacquaio/Cotto or even Hatton again.

So it's not only Okey for Mayweather to fight big Welter and Superwelterweights but fighting a guy that started his career just one division lower is picking on the poor little Marquez? Bullshit. They're about the same height and Marquez has actually looked a bit more powerful as a Lightweight than Floyd did. Size won't be really be the biggest issue here so if these two masters go at it, I'll be watching. Probably the most skilled fight that can be made right now.
Cotto/Mosley/Mayweather all have similar height and reach actually Mayweather is taller and has a longer reach than Cotto...and all 3 have come in at below the minumum weight usually around 145-46...and both Cotto and MOsley are NOT BIG WELTERWEIGHTS...they do however have teh BALLS to fight BIG/active Welterweights/SuperWelters.... Marquez has look great at Welter fight ancient Casamayor and Baby Bull...easy competition compare to having to fight Jose Luis Castillo at 135. IF Mayweather was such a small fighter..first he needs to get the fuck out of Welter or fight the best fighters there...and he should try to make 140-135 so his fight vs. Marquez might be more even...HE HAS TURN INTO DE LA HOYA...

I dont know how big Marquez actually is,.. as weight divisions, sometimes house fighters who are naturally as big as fighters 3 or 4 weight classes above,..the difference is the ability in cutting weight ofcourse, and there will probably be little size difference between Pacquioa and Hatton,.. so who knows?.. nobody said anything about the 'little guy' when Hatton fought Fraud,.. and if Marquez turns out to be the same size as Hatton, well, it's game on.
