If Margarito was using illegal wraps, does this clear Cintron of his 2 losses?

Seeing that Cintron got beaten up twice by Margarito. Does it mean Cintron's losses have asterixes on them now if he was knocked out by a Margarito with illegal wraps? Does it mean we shouldn't count Cintron's 2 losses to Margarito?

Since Margarito Got BUSTED Against Sugar Shane we can RIGHTFULLY Question Most, if Not ALL of his Big Wins...Starting w/the More RECENT 1's (Cotto, Cintron II, etc.)...Truthfully, we'll Never Know for CERTAIN, but Margarito DOESN'T Deserve the Benefit of the Doubt...

In fact, you could almost put two asterisks next to the Martinez fight...as he just about lost it twice.

So maybe it evens out.

 

I know but still....if he was getting hit by a guy with 30% added power to his punches through the aid of hardened hand wraps, then we should give Cintron the benefit of the doubt even if he sucks.

You can't prove Margarito ever used illegal wraps other than the Mosley fight...so just to assume is all you would be doing.
No evidence yet to prove he has always cheated in every fight.

 

It's hard to read posts from reknown Fraud groupies dancing on the grave with other agendas, same with Cotto groupies,.. but yes, there is a dark asterisk on his entire career, and he's a thorough disgrace who should never be allowed to box again, he should be made an example for any other devious cunt willing to murder thier opponent in the ring if need be. I have to agree,.. he's about as innocent as Fraud making an out of court settlement to a battered woman,.. but really though,.. Boxfan is a very lovely boy, very tender and submissive.

 

Whoever started this thread and everyone else who would agree with him, seriously, if you're going to assume Margarito cheated previously, at least be consistent and do so for every other cheat that is still in the game. I believe it is not the first time Margarito has cheated, however Shane Mosley, James Toney, Roy Jones, and Felix Trinidad among others careers should be looked at with the same scrutiny. Nobody wants to open the can of worms because basically the who's who since the early 90's would be in question.

So how many fights prior to Mosleys BALCO DLH 2 fight should have asterisks? How many of Toney's fights prior to Ruiz? How many of Roy Jones prior to Hall? I remember Papa Trinidad saying he always wrapped Tito's hands like (tape gauze tape gauze) prior to the B-Hops exposure, so should Tito's whole career have an asterisk next to it? When it comes down to it no cheater deserves the benefit of the doubt.

 

I agree with this one too,.. .. I also believe something should be done about the chronic 'cheating' and rule breaking in the ring right infront of our very eyes,.. but the messageboard goes ape-shit if you throw the book at anyone,.. Bernard Hopkins in particular.

 

With or without the handwraps, even Cintron doesn't dispute the loss. Why should we?

When Antonio Margarito and his trainer, Javier Capetillo, went before the California State Athletic Commission on Tuesday, for a hearing to deal with a foreign substance that was found in Margarito's hand wraps before his fight with Shane Mosley on January 24 - several of Margarito's former opponents were watching closley. One of those opponents was Kermit Cintron, and his attorney.
Cintron has two devastating knockout defeats on his record, and both came at the hands of Margarito. In 2005 Margarito stopped him in five and the rematch went one round longer last April. Although Margarito's trainer tried to take the full weight of the blame, the CSAC felt otherwise and revoked the licenses of both Margarito and Capetillo.
Though he didn't go into full detail, Cintron hinted at currently exploring his legal options.
"The only thing I can say about Margarito is that I don't have respect for him. If someone has to put something in his wraps to win fights, he is not a good fighter. I am not going to say anything for now. I'm going to stay quiet and leave everything in the hands of my lawyers," Cintron said to Primera Hora .
Cintron is not the only fighter to take shots at Margarito in the press. Miguel Cotto, who is under the same promotional banner [Top Rank] as Margarito, is totally against the idea of Top Rank putting on a show with Margarito in Mexico. In the opinion of Cotto, if Margarito is unable to fight in the United States - then he shouldn't be able to fight in any country

You fail to see the point. If you are going to take up one situation, you're not taking up the problem. For instance why do you not also want to question Tito Trinidads biggest wins prior to the B-Hops fight? Same situation here, but different fighter with all the same issues. Since both fighters were caught trying to cheat, in how many fights prior to this revelation did they in fact cheat? And the same can be asked for all cheaters in this sport.

 

N the Case of Tito, there WASN'T a WET (& Soon to B HARDENED) Piece of Gauze Falling Out of BOTH of his Handwraps was There???...Didn't Think So....Tito's Issue was Tooooooooo MUCH Gauze &/or Tape, NOT an ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE IN his Gauze or Tape...So It WASN'T Even Hardly the "Same Issue"...

To BOLSTER REED's Point, WHERE was the FINE or SUSPENSION for Tito, after the N.Y. Commission Made him RE-Wrap???....There WASN'T 1...WHY, Because it's an Entirely DIFFERENT ISSUE....

It was widely talked about that the biggest problem about Tito's wraps is the fact that Papa Trinidad put tape directly over the knuckles, gauze and more tape and more gauze which would hide the tape and was talked about on HBO and especially the following week on Friday Night Fights where when wet it would be like a cast. Just as illegal if not worse than inserting a pad in your wraps directly over the knuckles, as both when wet have similar effect. So where was the suspension for Tito? Since the same excuses you make for one fighter also applies for the other, that shows how similar the issue really is.
