At 6'3 1/2 and 230 lbs as he is now he would be among the bigger heavyweight champs ever. Bigger than Foreman, Holmes and Ali for example

Gomez is big enough to become heavyweight champion, he's just not good enough,..I dont understand what the hype is about. In retrospect,.. the worst possible opponent for Vitali is the one he indeed lost to,.. .. a guy who rivals his height, has extremely long arms and hits as hard as any heavyweight in history,.. .. usually it's difficult to hit Vitali because he archs back and never needs to use his gloves,..and consequently knowing nothing else, he fought Lewis,..without using his gloves to defend himself,..LOL that would be suicide to most heavyweights, :: it's why his face was such a mess, he thought he could arch back against Lewis's height and 84 inch reach,.. ---- Im suprised he did ok before the doctor stopped it.

 

If that fight was between two Americans it would be the biggest drama since Tyson/Lewis with all the connections outside of the ring. Sdunek being Gomez former trainer, Gomez having one of his nine children with Sdunek´s daughter, Öner being Gomez promoter and now being married to Sdunek´s daughter, Öner probably taking a large part of Gomez purse to guarantee Gomez pays the child support for his daughter, Öner´s step-daughter, who goes into the same kindergarten with Vitali´s son. opcorn:

Do you realize how stupid you sound sometimes?

Physically speaking weight is one component of mass.... the other being density and the inverse thereof... meaning that Juan is not by any stretch bigger than Foreman among other things. And Foreman was a lot bigger than me as well BTW.

 

Juan is as tall as Foreman and weights more than prime Foreman so I think it is not a strech to say he is bigger in some regard:dunno:

The point is, Gomez is NOT a small man historically speaking. Not by any means. That is an illusion

For those watching the irish stream, its featuring an amateur bout at the moment with Katie Taylor, a world amateur champion who is actually pretty good. Unfortunately, women's boxing is being done no favors here, as the commentary is condescending in a funny way ("wouldn't want to fall out with this girl" etc.), and they have a male model doing the round cards between rounds.
