Hey Oscar won a few rounds at the beginning of the fight, but Tito & Pavlik won zero rounds. The Tarver fight was so boring I barely remember anything about it.

oscar landed about 5 punches in that entire fight. he may have won a round or two when hopkins decided not to throw any punches.

hopkins beat up tarver. that was much more exciting to watch than seeing oscar feint for about 8 rounds before getting stopped.

Trinidad was coming up in weight and gave up size. That was humilliating in a lesser extent than Tarver.

milk dud was humiliated the most, especially coming off the rocky movie, jones jr. wins, light heavyweight champion status, and trash talking leading up to the match.

Wasn't the Pavlik defeat more humilliating?:dunno: I mean he was/is after all the young middleweight champion, who was undefeated, who defeated twice Hopkins daddy and who was the prohibited favorite against a senior citizen. To be the loser in a fight he did not won a single minute of any round is truly embarrassing.

Ah, in the context of ... "the only reason he won any rounds is because Hops decided not to throw any punches" ... ..thus, it's shut-outs for everyone,.. but,.. against Taylor and Calzaghe or anybody who wins rounds,..

    Hops, ...jus......decided, ....not ...
    to shut....
    them out..? :shit: .....

Joppy got beat up very badly too. His loss was pretty humiliating. He looked like a rodent after the fight due to all of the swelling.

agREED. DLH wasn't expected to beat Hopkins, Tarver was never anything special, and the jury is still out on how good Pavlik is.

According to his crazy fans and the misguided media...Trinidad was the P4P king and the best fighter since Sugar Ray Robinson. Hopkins was a 3 to 1 underdog (which I thought was crazy) and was merely the last stepping stone to a Trinidad - Jones Superfight. And then Tito was entirely dismantled in front of his own fans live and in front of the whole world vis PPV.

Gotta agree with the Tito answer. Tito was basically considered nearly unbeatable at the time he fought Hopkins and his popularity was at its peak. To get so soundly beaten in such a lopsided manner in front of his fans and to have it be his first defeat all by TKO has to be the worst.

It'd definitely rate higher in the embarrassment meter than a hardly known Pavlik, and a decently known Tarver decision, the latter of which didn’t even put up a fight when he fought Hopkins. Tito gave his all and still wound up looking like a novice while at least Tarver has the “what if he had actually come to fight” argument working for his defeat.

Wait!! Don't the "Tito lost because he fell in love with his power" and "Tito lost because of 9-11" excuses work for you??

It was one of my favorite boxing nights as well. I just didn't see Tito winning, much less by KO as some folks predicted.

Nope. I know you are hoping for someone else to inherit the title of Hopkins' most humiliating ass whipping victim...but the correct answer is still Tito.

    Tarver
    Tito
    Pavlik
    then way down is dlh

But Hopkins loss to Calz was even more humiliating because Joe buggered him in front of millions.

Possibly Pavlik, because Hopkins was older, Pavlik is pretty big, and most people thought Pavlik would win.

Tito might have been a 3 or 4 to 1 favourite over Nard, but anyone who knew their stuff at the time knew that was absurd, and that Nard would probably beat Tito.

Pavlik might not have been stopped, but he got dealt with in equally dominating/humiliating fashion.

Still, I vote Tito because I don't like him, and to annoy the Boricuas :kidcool:

Same here, and the people who kept referring to hopkins as some sort of brawler... I kept wondering if they ahd actually been seeing the same fighter that I had been watching over the years

hardly... That was a competetive fight and Hopkins dropped him early... Calzaghe won but it was no "buggering"

you cant compare the competetiveness of that fight with the completely one-sided beatings of Pavlik, Tarver and Trinidad

The hopkins' daddy stuff is the funniest (regarding Jermain Taylor) ... Taylor BARELY won those fights (I thought he out and out lost the second fight) against Bernard
