The amateur fight will happen at "Auburn Fight Night" at the Auburn Covered Center. The 22-year-old Maynard in 2004 won the ESPN ESPY award Best Athlete With A Disability. Maynard was previously denied a license to fight MMA by the Georgia Athletic & Entertainment Commission.

The guy is supposed to be a good wrestler (compared to whom I don't know), but obviously it can be rendered completely useless. It's an amateur fight, so the rules might differ from the typical in whichever organization he's fighting in. No matter the rules, it's laughable that he was granted a license. Which weight class will he fight in? Regardless, if he wins this fight I want to see him in the cage with the winner of Mir/Lesnar by the end of the year. Can you imagine the amount of PPV buys that will pull in?
