Tua vs Holyfield 1996 sparring footage (preparing for Tyson)

Pretty cool. I heard Holyfield used Tua as a sparring partner to prepare for Tyson in '96. Didn't know they actually filmed it. :kidcool:

Tua actually had some decent hand speed before he became a fat sloth. His jab was surprisingly quick in this footage. It's strange looking back at when Tua was actually in decent shape and a pretty good fighter.

Holy was still whipping his ass though.

 

I have heard two kinds of information about who controlled their sparring

 

I liked the part where Tua threw 3 quick left hooks flush on Holyfield. Although they were light taps. Seems Holyfield is pretty open for some inside big hooks from Tua there.

yeah Tua still looked decent at that time....Did he just got fat RIGHT before the LEWIS fight....cause i remember him having an average body frame..then from nowhere he got these tree trunk thighs... shoulders got bigger...then he just got plain FAT...

Hmm...nah man, he didn't actually put on much muscle, it was mainly fat. He was even fatter against Obed Sullivan.

 

Are you kidding? Tua looks the opposite of roided up. He simply got bloated, fat and chunky.

Against Sullivan is when he came in over 250 and started looking really big, with tree trunk thighs.

Tua wasn't really throwing hard punches. I think he was instructed to take it easy.

That is just a one round clip that I uploaded years ago on a boxing torrent site that some dumbshit youtubed.
The whole session is 5 rounds and Holyfield controlls most of it, in another session I have Holyfield makes him quit with a bodyshot and rolls out of the ring.
