Yeah, it's a real crime that those fights didn't happen when they should have.

Yep, you're right. Foreman was awesome though. :nono:

Yep. In the 90's I could see him being written off as another Tommy Morrison.

Yep. Although now that I am thinking about it...I think if Lewis had beaten Tyson...we most likely never would have seen Holyfield -Tyson and if we did...it would not have been for a title...it would have been more of a "loser should retire" type match with Holy coming off the loss to Bowe (and so-so peformance against Czyz) and Tyson coming off a loss to Lewis

    So I guess it's kind of a trade-off.

If Wlad fought Tommy Morrison in place of Touch of Sleep Williamson, it's lights out.

    Lewis/Bowe was the crappier situation.

Morrison could definitley punch and he had fast hands

too bad, he had a chin like wet napkins and the stamina of Rosie O'Donnell in the 20th mile of a marathon

Bowe was such a bitch in that situation

Actually...Morrison's loss to Mercer and Wlad's to Brewster are quite similar. Both started fast won the early rounds and then started to gas out, totally fell apart and were stopped.

    I know!!!

I was just making an observation about Tommy

MAN, I forgot about the Dokes fight. Maybe the biggest non-effort in heavyweight title fight history, and that's saying a lot.

Yep. I bet he was PRAYING for Ruddock to take care of Lewis for him.

The big difference being that Mercer was a good fighter with a ramrod jab and an iron chin while Brewster is a pile of dogshit:lol:

    Who lost to Ettienne.

    Absolutley

Bowe was scared witless of Lewis and he wanted nothing to do with him... I think Lewis would have knocked him out

Im not like some Lennox Lewis nuthugger or anything, but the guy has to be the most hated on and underappreciated champion of all time

    Brewster wasn't on his level.

I'd give Mercer more credit, he actually started to make in-roads in morrison in the round prior to the KO...Brewster just lucked out in that fight IMO

He really did suck for a while there.

    he still does, IMO

Yep. I don't know that he is the greatest ever. But I'm pretty sure he is #1 among heavies in the "Least amount of love from Boxing fans compared to his career accomplishments".

Although...I suspect, like Larry Holmes, Lewis will grow in boxing fans eyes as the year go by and the sting of him beating Holyfield and Tyson lessens to their respective fans.

I would also mention Bowe (for chickening out), but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any fans. For the life of me...I can't recall ever meeting a Bowe fan.

You don't think Tony "The Tiger" Thompson is legit?

I mean, we're talking about a guy who ALMOST won a Fist Full of Dollars here.
