http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7953192.stm Good news, and should hopefully be a decent fight.
I haven't looked forward to a heavyweight fight this much since the last time Lennox boxed. Fucking right. :hammert:
"I'm a man on a mission to save boxing from this Eastern European invasion of Ivan Drago clones. The clean-up operation starts with Wladimir on 20 June." Haye is trying to make this fight much more personal than it needs to be. Drago-clones? Is this guy talking trash or what???? ::
"I am used to being attacked by my opponents before a fight, but David is top of the list of crudity. "He has to pay the price for it and I promise it will be painful." -Wlad
This will be typical boring ass Wlad fight mid-late round stoppage by corner after fighter eats jabs and 1 or 2 right hands per round.
Proably right. Let's see what happens to Haye's aggressivenes as he takes a jab that is as hard as any right cross he has received so far. Might be that he pulls an Ibragimov. Hopefully not though
If Wlad holds for more than 2 minutes of every round I'll consider this fight a victory for Haye, regardless of what happens.
The problem with Haye is that he seems like a front runner as highlited by his loss tho Carl Thompson. And usually to beat Wlad you'll have to take some punishment unless you're fast, big and skilled enough to get to him first and exploit his fragility ala Corrie Sanders. Thing is, Haye may have these attributes so it makes this a very dangerous fight for Wlad. Unluckly for him, he seems very fragile himself. Very interesting fight even thought I would like to have seen Haye fight at least one contender before getting a title shot.
That makes no sense. I`m sure Haye would take his chance with landing as many flush shots on Wlad as he landed on Thompson, and if Wlad is standing after five rounds, Haye has no shot at winning anyway and can gas out.
You don´t think Haye would take 50-100 good free shots in the first five rounds at Wlad´s beard right now, if you offerd him that?
pan choth klitschkos. anyway, if haye wins, hopefully it'll be via the sanders-style ko, and if that's the case, wlad may simply not want a rematch, just as he didn't against sanders.
again, respect to haye for going straight to the biggest, riskiest fight, rather than milking his fame with a bingo hall tour. more courage than hatton, slappy, and half-a-dozen other british cowards put together.
come on man, hatton coulda got big fights years and years ago. there was a period of about five years, 2000-2004, when he was saying after every fight: "next year i'm going to america!" he eventually did it with the zoo fight, then ran back into his shell to fight maussa, collazo, and urango. hatton's doing ok now, but after long years of bullshit. (dennis holbaek pedersen? stephen smith?) haye finally got his credibility after mormeck and enzo, and straight away confronted the heavyweight champ on an escalator.
bang on bruv, u know what, as much as someone like david haye would usually piss me off to the rafters with his big mouth an all that, the guy just isn't taking it easy, hes taking on the big dogs straight up. so nuff respect. i dont actually think he will beat wlad, but if he land early and hard i really think he will do it, i have more respect for the guy already than calzaghe and hatton because he is fighting the big boys straight up, with no bullshit talk, he's just doing it. im actually thinking of going there now because the guy is stepping up to the plate, are you going there roost? let me know and we'll hook up for a piss up, nuff love, peace
This is a fight between a deliberately underdeveloped felon, and a racial Arabic cunt. What a match, boxing pride at it's best.
Haye is DEFINITELY "Fast, Big & Skilled Enough" to TOUCH Wlad w/Something Early, but Actually DOING it is Another Matter Altogether...Haye's a TRUE Threat to Wlad AND a Good Finisher.... REED:hammert:
Of Course he Will...Especially EARLY N the Fight, Haye's Gonna GO For it...REED Doubts if even Haye Himself Fancies his Chances of DECISIONING Wlad.... REED:hammert:
Yep...Haye Deserves MUCH Respect Here & REED Expects NATHAN Less than a GENUINE Effort from Him... REED:fightme:
would like to, but i'm a financial black hole. will have to make do with a stream and fightbeat round-by-round banter. :cheer:
it's one fight where you will need the smoothest stream going....if it freezes for a few seconds the fight could be over by the time it picks up again i can't wait....Haye will jump on Wlad and it will be a case of who lands first....Haye's speed will be every bit as crucial as his power
Its messed up how there forcing Haye to have an imediate rematch with Wlad or a fight with Vitali then a 3rd fight right after that with one of them again.. :notallthere: Never seen a demand like that one before.. :dunno: Think I'll be rooting for Haye just because of that..
Of course this is the logical take. All I am saying that we have seen people choke up before when they actually try to fulfil their plan. That was what the Tua example meant: he did not go for it against Lewis even though that was his only chance. Let's see how Haye reacts as he faces a guy that is much bigger than him and punches hard with every shot. It could be the other way around. If Haye puts on the pressure and gets through early, it could happen that Wlad becomes as clueless as hedid against Sanders
