    ENTIRE Career?

But just a couple months ago you were saying it was only against Cotto.

Which, conveniently, you used to helped explain why you, and others, were wrong about that fight.

Otherwise, the "wrapped" version of Margarito was either around before that fight - and there was no discernable difference in the fighter that, say, knocked out Kermit Cintron (in the rematch) and Golden Johnson - or he never fought with them, as he never actually make it to the ring with wraps against Mosley.

What is rewarding is seeing how people criticize Margarito as a fighter before knowing he had hand-wraps now use the revelation of hand-wraps to support previous arguments, during which they had no idea about their existence.

Not that an Edwin Valero thread should be used to house this ongoing discussion, though.

    And?

*Z* has won every prediction contest run in the past 100 years. While that may in part have something to do with an elaborate boxrec scheme, he's still more consistently right about fights than anyone historically, at least way moreso than anyone else posting in this thread

Sorry to PISS on your Margarito Parade, Plaster Supporter...But CLEARLY, Margarito's ENTIRE CAREER is Under Question & DESERVEDLY So....Or did You REALLY Think Margarito's "Power" is what Nearly Knocked Lujan's Ear from the Side of his Head???....

    Plaster Supporter?

Please back that up with some substance (other than plaster).

But that does go back to my point, if Margarito was wrapping since the Lujan fight (or before it), you had no idea he was doing it, and your arguments about him as a fighter weren't based on it, or even influenced by it.

    Back Up WHAT???...

The Fact that U're in an Edwin Valero Thread SUPPORTING Antonio Margarito (as USUAL) OR the Fact that the "Inserts" Found N Margarito's Handwraps were INVESTIGATED & Contained a "Plaster Like" Substance???....

U're CLINGING to a GLIMMER of Hope that the "Only" Time Margarito Attempted to Use the Inserts was Against Sugar Shane...UNFORTUNATELY for your Case, the Inserts had DRIED BLOOD on them, Indicating that they INDEED had Been Used Previously...

Now Kindly Back AWAY from the Dead Corpse Known as Margarito's Career & Let it ROT N Hell like he Deserves...

REED has NEVER Been Impressed by Margarito & REED has about 6 Years Worth of Posts (on MORE than 1 Messageboard) to PROVE it...The ONE Time Margarito "Impressed" REED was Against Cotto, a Fight that OBVIOUSLY Has to B Questioned, Considering what we Now Know...

I didn't introduce Margarito into this thread, and have no clue why he's in it.

    Well, maybe I do.

    You said:
What does that have to do with anything?

Better yet, what does that prove?

If the argument is Margarito's wraps caused Lujan's ear, then based on what was known prior to January 24th, the damage was caused by Margarito's legally wrapped hands...the same as happened to Cintron's body and Cotto's busted face.

Now that it's been proven Margarito's hands were illegally wrapped for the Mosley fight, it certainly casts doubt on the rest of the his career...but it doesn't change what was known when the original debates, in and around those previous fights, took place.

And because of that, "Joony was Also a STAUNCH Supporter of Antonio Margarito" doesn't mean shit.

(Not unless he was still a supporter of his after the January 24th or at least after the official findings of the California State Athletic Comission were known).

Yeah, but if the argument is he's been doing since Lujan, then there was no difference in the Margarito that fought Lujan and Cotto.

    Can't have it both ways.

    Justifying what?

I'm just trying to understand your claim that "The ONE Time Margarito "Impressed" REED was Against Cotto", when, based on your belief that he "CHEATED N Both Instances", he was the exact same fighter who fought Lujan.

    Wasted years of fandom?

You're the one with emotional attachment to fighters.

I just comment on what I think of them in the ring.

I certainly don't cry when they lose.

I was at Staples Center that night...and my eyes were dry.

REED was "Impressed" w/Margarito (post Cotto) Based on Picking him to LOSE that Fight...But as it Turns Out, there's a REASON why Margarito Beat Cotto That Night...& it Damn Sure Wasn't a LEGIT Reason...

N HINDSIGHT, REED Can AGAIN Say that he was Never RIGHTFULLY Impressed w/Margarito...

So you're saying there was a "REASON why" he beat Cotto and that same REASON probably existed in previous fights?

But if that's the case, that the same glove-loading fighter that fought Miguel Cotto fought Sebastian Lujan, then what was the difference between the fighter that beat Lujan and the fighter that beat Cotto?

I've rarely been the first to introduce an unrelated fighter into a thread, but it's amazing the way some names - like Margarito's - pop up in random threads.

I couldn't care less if you bump it...I have no problem sticking by what I've posted about fighters in the past, Margarito included, based on what I knew of the fighter at the time.

Don't laugh, Rey Bautista could use some of that to reinforce that chin of his.

Not if you listen to Reed.

The only thing that changed Margarito's career was NOT being allowed to use it.

But I apologize, Bautista was an unrelated fighter...probably shouldn't have brought him up, but figured it was one of the few names you'd recognize.

I don't want to get involved Mitchell. I just laughed at that comment "Plaster Supporter", it's kind of funny.

I think Cotto is a jerk for beating up his uncle, and Margarito is a shit face for cheating.

It has nothing to do with wrong or right.

This discussion is about you, not Margarito.

As you've stated, you've spent "6 Years" talking about Margarito.

You've stated you believe Margarito was cheating in previosu fights, so again, I'm just trying to understand how that same fighter, that could beat Miguel Cotto, was worthy of being "bashed" by you and others.

Even Back Then, Margarito was MORE than Fitting to B BASHED as Others Foolishly PRAISED him...This Cat's been PROPPED UP to the Point that even Guys like YOU Actually Entertained the Notion of Margarito having "Underrated Defense"...Sorry, but that's an Absolute JOKE, Dog... Always HAS Been, Always WILL B....

Simply Put, REED just NEVER "Got" the Infatuation or Appreciation for Margarito....He's a Very Basic, even RUDIMENTARY Fighter....Margarito's ONLY Assets were his WILL (ie. HEART, ie. DETERMINATION) & his CHIN....AVERAGE Puncher @ Best, TERRIBLE Defensively & he Performed @ a SLOTH Like Pace...Loooooooooooong Ago, REED Said Margarito was NO HIGHER Than a 6 or 7 (on a 10-Scale) in ANY Regard, Except for his Chin & Will....

& the One, the ONE Time Margarito Actually Made REED Wonder if he was TRUELY Good Enough to OVERCOME his Physical Phlaws, it Turns Out that the Motherfucker was More than Likely Performing w/LOADED Wraps....

Whatever attributes you want to ascribe to him, if your argument is that he was loading before and during the Cotto fight, then those qualities were enough to beat Miguel Cotto.

And again, who was the initiator of most of the Margarito conversations?

    Margarito "fans"? Or Mayweather "fans"?
