All I have to say is:

    1) If it does happen, at 140 or 147, Marquez loses big to Mayweather, but he gets a pay day.

    2) If Marquez picks a retired Morales at 140 over fighting Edwin Valero, he's a pussy bitch.

You probably think a fat shot Erik Morales is better then Valero.

There's Really NO Incentive for Marquez to Face Valero...Marquez is an ESTABLISHED Great Fighter @ the Tail End of his Career...Valero's an Up & Comer who Still Needs to PROVE Himself...

That Morales' name would emerge as a candidate for Marquez's next fight is hardly surprising...and from a competitive standpoint, it isn't very satisfying.

IMO, neither is Mayweather-Marquez, for that matter.

I don't see Marquez fighting Valero at this stage of his career.

He's looking to get paid, and he would against Morales.

The better scenario would be for him to fight the winner, or maybe the loser, of May 2nd.

If there is any truthfulness to any of the talk about this fight........

SOOOO much for Mayweather can make 140 easily bullshit that comes out of Mayweather supporters...."He is not a true Welter, he can make 140 if he wants...for god sake he comes in at 146 at weight in and only goes up 1 or 2 points by fight time..."...

Wow, Floyd is ducking the entire 147 pound division. He wants to fight there but not against other guys who fight there? What a crock of shit.

Pulling Marquez up to 147 is a fucking disgrace.

    Yep...

REED NEVER Liked the Idea of Floyd vs. Marquez, but let's NOT Pretend that Floyd is the 1 who Came Up w/this Fight...Marquez Name Dropped Floyd, Not Vice Versa...The Onus ISN'T On Floyd to Accomodate Marquez's Weight Demands, Since Marquez Called HIM OUt...

The best fight out of the 3 is Marquez-Valero.

If he fights Manny's leftovers, he's a pussy plain and simple.

I'd actually like to see blockhead get picked off to death by Fraud.

    Manny beats both.

Yeah but Margarito and Cotto have called Floyd out before. Why no response from him then?

  14. royyjonesjrp4pno1

    royyjonesjrp4pno1 "Twinkle Toes" McJack

Cotto didn't call out Floyd ever. "I fight whoever Top Rank tells me to fight".

Margarito called him out many times. Floyd just had bigger fights on the table at the time.

Has Mayweather made any public comments regarding this, or any other, potential fight?

Margarito's name is not as big as any of them guys. I was talking about Oscar De la Hoya the same guy that Antonio himself was desperate to fight.

    you cant be serious

outside of Judah, none of those guys was more well known than Margarito

even Baldomir remained pretty anonymous after BEATING Judah

At the time Margarito was a nobdy. He made his name by being avoided by Floyd. His biggest win by then was over Cintron or Clottey.

Baldomir was the undisputed champ and Mitchell was far more known then Margarito at the time.

At the time Margarito was not a big name.

Margarito was the fight boxing people wanted to see... he was the main threat

Baldomir was a nice little Cinderella story

and nobody has ever given a flying fuck about Mitchell

Mitchell was shot but he was more well known and a tune up fight for Zab. Everybody wanted to see Floyd fight Zab who was the undisputed champ at the time.

Baldomir was a nice cinderella story and also didn't load his gloves with bricks to become champ. Not to mention if Floyd fought Margarito everybody would have just switched Margarito's name with Baldomirs. Margarito and Baldomir have the same style, slow as shit and easy to hit. Margarito matched up to Floyd as badly as Baldomir did. Cotto is a much tougher match up to Floyd.

what does this THAT have to do with ANYTHING??

We are talking about the perception AT THAT TIME

no one new fuck all about Margarito's gloves back then

"Margarito matched up to Floyd as badly as Baldomir did"

    are you kidding with this???

  24. royyjonesjrp4pno1

    royyjonesjrp4pno1 "Twinkle Toes" McJack

Not at all. Biggest difference between Margarito and Baldomir was punching power and we know why that was.

  25. cdogg187

    cdogg187 GLADYS

    NOW we do, not THEN

Also, Margarito was 4 inches taller than Baldomir and far busier with a better offensive arsenal

they have almost nothing in common stylistically except on the most general fronts (i.e. they both are aggressive)

I don't blame Marquez for refusing the fight at 147. It shows that he's confident he can win and it also shows that PBF is insistent on fighting at 147, but has still yet to face a top contender in the weight class. P4P #1? :atu:

    What a joke.

When Marquez called Floyd out he knew that Floyds last fight was at 147lb. Marquez was in attendence.

Zab and Baldomir were top contenders. Baldomir was the undistputed linear champ when Floyd beat him.

Marquez maybe also thought like all Mayweather fans that he could make 140 easy..and would accommodate....I guess Pretty boy can't make 140 as easy as all his fan club say....but he also doesn't want to fight the TOP guys at 147...:bangh:....

Margarito/Williams/Cintron were also top contenders and much bigger threats to Mayweather than BUMDOMIR...or...JUDAH...

Zab and Baldomir? Neither have beaten anyone decent at 147.

That DIDN'T Stop Boxing FANS AND MEDIA from Sucking Baldomir's "Lineal Championship" Dick Though...Floyd was even CRITICIZED for "Ducking" Baldomir, when he Chose to Fight Zab on PPV 1st...
