I wonder how much he has left... that was a brutal trilogy and he was in a lot of tough, give and take fights

exciting fighter for sure, always fun to watch

Until the Last Year or So, Rafael was REED's FAVORITE Marquez Brother...By a Fucking MILE...He is/was a SKILLED Bantamweight Banger...It Seems STRANGE to REED that Nacho would Move Rafael BACK DOWN N Weight, @ a VERY Advanced Age (for a Lower Weight Fighter)...

Nacho knows better then to let him fight Juan Manuel Lopez.

JML would beat Rafs ass bro. Even Raf in his prime would struggle to beat Juan Ma. After the Vasquez trilogy he has about a 0.000000000000001% chance to win.

Nacho IMO is being overly dramatic, let the kid fight at what he weighs.

I am with REED here, I always thought that Rafael was the better of the two at several points as he threw down and punched it out more than JMM.

Nacho is a great trainer, but look at the "job" he did with Oscar vs. Manny Pacquiao.."Nuff Said."

Oscar could've had God on his corner that night and Pacquiao would've made him his bitch anyways. That's not a fight to judge the talents of Nacho. He's one of the best trainers today. I don't think the Marquez brother would've gotten that far without him.

I agree Rafa should stay at 122. There are other big fights aside from Vazquez.

As far as the Marquez brothers I disagree. AT no point was Rafa better than Juan Manuel. I can understand if he was more popular because he was a KO artist at 118. But skill wise he only got better with time.

Moving back down is pretty strange for a guy at the weight and also his age but it's great to see him back.

While I am huge Lopez fan the jury is still out on that kid - the guy hasn't been tested as yet.

I like Rafael, he was more obviously likeable than Gay Marquez due to being an aggressive puncher.

But despite preferring him, I never thought he was the better of the two, even when people were all over his nuts.

Quite simply - he never was better than his brother. He could punch really hard yes, but his brother was better in more or less every other area.

Caballero vs Juan Ma needs to happen. Hopefully it can be on a Cotto U/C.

It should be 50-50 regardless of prior outcomes. Each fighter is in the position they are in because of the other guy.

As has already been said...........who else they gonna fight for a comparable payday?

I wouldn't blame them if they just took the money and sparred each other for 12 rounds. These guys have done nothing but damage each other for the long term. They've given enough already.

I've never seen anyone dominate Penalosa the way he did, and shake off his punches with ease.

I agree he's yet to fight the best, but the one-sidedness of his fight with Penalosa, who's never been dominated in such fashion, definitely counts for something.

Also, he KTFO of De Leon, who while he wasn't a skilled fighter, was known to be very durable and hit very hard.

Lopez is a fckn monster at 122. I'd pick him at this point to beat either Marquez or Vazquez.

I could see a Marquez fight end up a being a mismatch.

Vazquez should be more competitive...but who knows what he's got left.

REED Understands WHY they're Doing a 4th Fight, but he DOESN'T Have Much Interest in It...ESPECIALLY if it's Gonna B on PPV...

I might pay just because they've earned it.

Actually, instead of having it on ppv they should set up a donation hot line and have it run throughout the telecast.

i didn't get the impression at all that a fourth fight was on the docket for Raffy given his plan to return to 118 and then likely fight Jhonny Gonzalez after what will be basically a tune-up. but i could be wrong.

Raffy needs to stay at superbantamweight. Vazquez is just one of those tough dudes that if you can't take him out, will wear you down if you slug with him.

The times when Rafael chose to BOX Vazquez,...he outclassed the shit out of him.

He needed this rest,. but now needs to stay at 122 because if not,...the same thing that happened to RJ will happen to him.

Don't think for a minute that Marquez can't compete with JML, because as good as Lopez is, he still hasn't faced an opponent as experienced, accomplished or as good as Rafael Marquez.

If Marquez would enter the ring and fight as good as he did in his last , albeit losing fight with Vaz.......he can beat JML I think.

The problem with the VAzquez/Marquez 4th fight is that the buzz of the trilogy is gone already.

Sure boxing fans still want to see the fourth fight but on ppv? good luck selling that shit.

I understand wanting to pay these guys for that awesome trilogy. But because they needed so much rest after the trilogy selling a fourth fight at this point will be hard.

Rafael Marquez won his last fight easy but he didn't look right to me. He looked like he was pulling the trigger slowly and not throwing as well. He was fighting a bum so it didn't matter but I think both guys will turn out to be ruined.
