My Spanish isn't the best, but from what i gathered the nutrionist is acting as a substitute trainer for the Clottey fight, not as a permanent replacement.

 

Fighters make the trainer more often than not.

 

I really hope it's an interim position

That DOESN'T Mean that U Hire a Glorified P.E. TEACHER to Work a Professional Boxing Corner...It's IMPOSSIBLE for a Fighter to SEE & Be AWARE of EVERYTHING that's Going On w/his Opponent (Tendencies, Flaws, Punch Openings, etc.), while Sharing a Ring w/Him...For a Professional Boxing Match, U Need a 2nd Set of EXPERIENCED Eye's Working your Corner...

I believe arum was stating that he would get an interim trainer for the clottey fight and after that, they would hire a top notch trainer. I hope this is still the plan.

I know what you mean and I agree, but I think they're going under the assumption that there's not much time for Cotto to get used to a new corner and they prefer a familiar environment not to create any sort of delay in training. Cotto, as you said... hired a "yes man" and that's not a wise decision.

 

Cotto understands the importance of hard work. I don't think this will be a problem especially if he has seen how Evangilista worked. Minus the arguments.

Clottey IS NOT a Tough opponent. I can't believe Cotto is not getting shit for fighting a loser like Clottey. The guy is the softest fighter south of Jammela Mcqueen. We all know Clottey will lose a decision, throwing 4punches a round.

The ONLY drama is what "phantom" injury he will invent when he stinks out the joint yet again.

Cotto will go from his boyfriend's asshole, kick over the empty bottles of JoseCuervo and walk up there with a monkey and beat that uncompetetive scrub Clottey.

Clottey is no joke.. this is a winable fight for him IMO

esp after Cotto has a PE teacher coaching him

 

Get into shape. Pace. Throw more than Clottey (easy). Get sparring partners who imitate Clottey's easily imitatable style. Win.

This is an easy fight for Cotto and if he loses it will be his fault, not the trainer's.

 

AgREED, I think Clottey is a little overestimated, I don't think Cotto will be in danger of losing at all here
