My Spanish isn't the best, but from what i gathered the nutrionist is acting as a substitute trainer for the Clottey fight, not as a permanent replacement.

don't think so..it says he has a degree in physical education...and has been a hang-on to Miguel Cotto since he was 14 years old....

That DOESN'T Mean that U Hire a Glorified P.E. TEACHER to Work a Professional Boxing Corner...It's IMPOSSIBLE for a Fighter to SEE & Be AWARE of EVERYTHING that's Going On w/his Opponent (Tendencies, Flaws, Punch Openings, etc.), while Sharing a Ring w/Him...For a Professional Boxing Match, U Need a 2nd Set of EXPERIENCED Eye's Working your Corner...

Is this Guy Gonna Help Cotto DISSECT Clottey's Style????...Is he Gonna B Able to Offer SPECIFIC ADJUSTMENTS if Plan A DOESN'T Work???...Can this Guy even DEVISE a Plan A???...Can this Guy CLOSE a Cut N LESS than 60 Seconds???...

U CAN'T Underestimate the VALUE of a GOOD Trainer or CORNER N General...There's Waaaaaaaaaaaay Toooooooooo MANY QUALIFIED Guys Out There for Cotto to Put his Career N the Hands of this Cat....

Cotto just wants to be comfortable with the guy he's with. sad if you ask me because he could still grow as a fighter.

Looks like Cotto went with a "Yes Man".

Maybe the worst thing for him was finding out Margarito was fighting with loaded gloves. Now he's letting over-confidence get the best of him.

His nutritionist? I always wondered if "nutritionist" in boxing is code for "steroid supplier".

    :dunno:

    Yep...

& There's NOfuckingWAY a Yes Man is All of a Sudden Gonna Become a Guy that Cotto RESPECTS as a Trainer...There's NOfuckingWay this Guy will B Able to PUSH Cotto N Training & NATHAN He Can Tell Cotto DURING a Fight, if he's in a TIGHT Situation (Which is LIKELY Considering Clottey is the Next Opponent)...

REED had Heard Cotto was "Talking" w/Miguel Diaz, which Would've Been a NICE Addition...ANYBODY BUT this Dude...

    F.Y.I.

"Nutritionist" Could Mean "COOK", "CHEF", "ROID Supplier" OR "Guy that Makes Midnight Runs to BURGER JOINTS"....

In combination with "new" nutritionist means you´ll get KTFO in your next fight.

I believe arum was stating that he would get an interim trainer for the clottey fight and after that, they would hire a top notch trainer. I hope this is still the plan.

But WHY NOT Get a Topnotch Guy NOW???:dunno:...

WHY B ARROGANT Enough to Think U Can Actually Get By a TOUGH Opponent like Clottey, w/a Half-Assed Gym Teacher as your "Trainer"???...If Cotto was about to Face the Guy he just BEAT (Can't Recall his Name), REED Wouldn't Mind Sooooo Much, but Clottey is a LOSABLE Fight...

For as MUCH as Arum has Vested N Cotto, REED Can't Believe he'd Co-Sign on this Hiring...

I know what you mean and I agree, but I think they're going under the assumption that there's not much time for Cotto to get used to a new corner and they prefer a familiar environment not to create any sort of delay in training. Cotto, as you said... hired a "yes man" and that's not a wise decision.

Cotto understands the importance of hard work. I don't think this will be a problem especially if he has seen how Evangilista worked. Minus the arguments.

Clottey IS NOT a Tough opponent. I can't believe Cotto is not getting shit for fighting a loser like Clottey. The guy is the softest fighter south of Jammela Mcqueen. We all know Clottey will lose a decision, throwing 4punches a round.

The ONLY drama is what "phantom" injury he will invent when he stinks out the joint yet again.

Cotto will go from his boyfriend's asshole, kick over the empty bottles of JoseCuervo and walk up there with a monkey and beat that uncompetetive scrub Clottey.

Cotto is such a moron. He keeps making stupid decisions. I still can't believe he chose his Nutritionist as a fucking trainer.

Hyperbole Aside, Clottey WILL B a Tough Opponent for Cotto...He's BIGGER, STRONGER & he'll Attempt to Make Cotto UNCOMFORTABLE by Staying CLOSE to him...

Get into shape. Pace. Throw more than Clottey (easy). Get sparring partners who imitate Clottey's easily imitatable style. Win.

This is an easy fight for Cotto and if he loses it will be his fault, not the trainer's.

AgREED, I think Clottey is a little overestimated, I don't think Cotto will be in danger of losing at all here
