Can't believe sooooo many people are underestimating Clottey...how many 147 could beat him?? Margarito..with great struggle.....Mosley maybe..but he had problems w/ a fighter who used a similar style(winkY)...Cotto is short/reach and is a sucker for jab/right hand that Clottey likes to throw every now and then....

PLUS who knows what Cotto has left...he look a bit timid vs. Jennings in the first 3 rounds...it took him a while to get going....

Cotto wins a decision...but it's not as easy as someone want to make it....Though SOME just say that Clottey is nothing special and Cotto should beat him easy...so they can BITCH and complain..and call Cotto overated when he struggles a bit...

If Clottey manages to back Cotto up he will have success and possibly win a decision IMO.

    I agree.

I think Cotto can beat Clottey just by training himself, which is basically the case here.

Miguel has a great work ethic and very good sparring partners including Henry Bruselles.

REED makes a valid point about hiring a trainer now, but it takes a while for things to mold between the trainer and fighter, so Cotto probably knows what he is doing here.

I think he should bring Miguel Diaz on board nevertheless to work the corner as he is a first rate cut man and motivator, and one of the best I have seen at keeping a corner under control in tough and hectic situations.

I've never seen Diaz losing his poise during a fight, agree.

Clottey is good, but Cotto is superb.

There is only one trainer that could have lost this fight for Cotto and he passed away in 2008--Oscar Suarez.

And everyone....that quote comes from a coward that has not only never had a fight in his life...but hides his face on the internet in deference to his 98 lb weakling body.

You can't be certain that Arum even has Cotto's best interest in mind now a days. Remember, Cotto publicly criticized Arum and Arum is one of the few promoters who is as cocky and ego inflated as Floyd Mayweather. I wouldn't be surprised if Arum is secretly hoping for Cotto's destruction because A.) Believe it or not Arum is that short sighted enough, and B.) He probably thinks Cotto will leave him anyway once his contract is up.

On another note, I really hope that when Clottey pounds Cotto into do-do that it won't get blamed on Cotto's lack of a decent trainer or the fact that Margarito ruined Cotto. For once let's give Clottey his just due rather than make excuses for why he won.

    You are fat and ugly.

You should refrain from debating me. You have contradicted your entire point by saying my opinion means nothing because I think everyone sucks and then you start listing exceptions. Cotto doesn't suck. He is just not as good as many of you thought and continue to think. I said 2 years ago Williams would stop him and you and all the Cotto lovers laughed and chortled with your know-nothingness. How does my take seem now.

Anyway, Cotto only has his solid record because of fights like this. You are only trying to make Cotto look better by saying it is a challenge. It is not. If he were to struggle with Clottey, he ought to retire. Clottey couldn't even make Zab Judah cave mentally. Yet, he is somehow dangerous:notallthere::notallthere:

I just spoke with Evangelista. I looked him in the eye and asked him if he would ever train Cotto again. He looked at me and said "I don't see me ever training him again. It's over."

I think Cotto has yet to really prove himself "superb" when it comes to 147. He barely beat Mosley. I think that's about it. A close win that in my mind could've gone either way against a fighter as long in the tooth as Mosley does not a "superb" fighter make.

I'm not saying Clottey will beat him, but I think it's being generous to call Cotto "superb" at this point. I think he still has some wins to bank before he can be labelled as such. Especially at 147.

And u are just trying to set ur self up nicely in the future...if Cotto struggles a bit w/ Clottey u would start bitching about how average a fighter he is...but if he beat Clottey impressively u would say "SO what he was fighting CLOTTEY, he did what he was suppose to do"

How many fighters have defeated Clottey with ease??? Margarito had problems w/ Clottey...and he probably had his special wraps in that fight...

yeah u are always saying "2-3-5 years ago i told u guys, this guy would do this and that"....BS....

Williams has done very well for himself...he defeated an old Winky...which even at that advance age is better than anyone else in the division...and also beat Phillips...good quality fighters...but how was ur prediction of Williams beating Cotto...looking after WILLIAMS vs. QUINTANA I....:dunno: ...unless u are one of those person that believes Quintana outboxing/outfighting Williams in their first fight was a fluke...yet Williams first round ko in the rematch was a legit...and undeniable.

Yup..Judah looked like he wanted to quit a round or 2 before it was stopped...he just made a little show at the end. Trying to make it look like he didn't want the fight to be stopped...but thats what he was hoping 4...

Clottey's a good opponent for Cotto at this stage...because Cotto hasn't looked great the last two times he's entered the later rounds...and Clottey figures to make him do it here.

It'll be a nice gauge of where Cotto's at.

Ike is so ugly she hides her face when taped by her girlfriend, Aaron Gay.

Since she claims to know so much about boxing, let's see her interview Cotto in person, and point out his mistakes and faults.

Why? Clottey is a solid fighter but very basic. It's not as if Cotto will need expert advice to beat him. Like Mitchell Kane pointed out Miguel hasn't looked the best in later rounds recently. Perhaps having a guy concentrating more on his conditioning might even help him in this particular fight.

I'm not saying he should stick with the guy, but this one fight alone probably won't make a big difference.
