It was! Viloria really sat down on his damn punches. I've never seen Solis in that much trouble early in a fight except against Rodel Mayol, another pinoy bomber. I was excited to see Nonito back in form and just bombing the shit out of Martinez early. He made a solid contender look like an amateur with his counters. Nonito is leaving 112 with a bang that's for sure. At 115, I want to see him fighting Daisy Dukes Montiel. He could lay that f*cker out too.
What happened to the guy you told us all to look out for as the next great champion of the world. Rey Bautista? artie:
Viloria fought like he was fighting for his career, which was good because he was. He actually let his hands go last night. A lot of times he just looks like he don't give a shit.
The Nonito Donaire "TKO" win was a joke. The ref did an awful job on stopping the fight so prematurely.
It was a shitty stopped, but I swear, soemtimes fans are retarded. You cry when fighters die and blame the refs...yet when a referee stops a fight because EVERY punch either knocks down the opponent or puts him on queer street, you bitch about that too. Martinez was done and never got into the fight.
It was a good stoppage. Martinez almost fell down a second time after the ref stopped it. He was pretty much done. Did you want Martinez to die in there? ::
Last night was a step in the right direction, but he's wasted his goodwill earned off the Darchinyan win. He needs some top flight opponents and while Martinez looked good before, he'd never really been tested. Donaire didn't even give him a chance and basically pulled a Trinidad vs Vargas...caught him early and changed the fight right there. THe size difference between Nonito and that midget was hilarious too.
I hope Donaire take on Vic again, so he can shut him up already. I fucking dislike Vic as much as I like Donaire. I never grow tired of watching his KO on youtube.
Well he was raised in Hawaii, but he is of Filipino ancestry. He's even been a commentator on Solar Sports cards.
I blame a lot of that on Gary Shaw, and Donaire's big mouth. It really put his career on ice for a while. Now that Arum is backing Donaire, he will get a lot of good opportunities. At 115, there is already discussion of Donaire fighting Arce or Munoz. Donaire would brutalize the both of them. The fight I want for him is Darchinyan, but fat ass Shaw would never let that fight happen again.
What's Shaw's excuse for not making the rematch? That Donaire wasn't loyal? Bull-shyte. Well it's only a matter of time before Vic gets KTFO again so it's something t look forward to.
Pretty much. Shaw thought Donaire was not being "loyal" for wanting to find another promoter because Shaw wasn't getting him fights and his career was languishing. I think part of it was Shaw only thought of Donaire as a "throw away" fight for Darchinyan. Remember, Donaire wasn't supposed to win against Darchinyan, it was simply a tune-up bout. Donaire winning could've been economically bad for Shaw (it didn't end up being the case because Darchinyan came back). As an aside, I remember when I was still posting on BoxRec and said that Donaire was going to give Darchinyan trouble, "mattyp" bet me $100 that Donaire wouldn't "last the distance". Best bet ever. ::
