Well he's doing what he enjoys and picking safe opponents. As long as he doesn't start claiming he wants a title shot or something. Cupey
This could be Lacy's big break !!! He should just beat the crap out of RJJ's body, and then when RJJ's not looking sling his left-hook right across RJJ's chin. That's all it will take. Or take a page from Ibeabuchi. Keep throwing the same combination when RJJ is against the ropes and then around about round 6 or 7 switch it up, and catch that chin.
Roy can take a good shot if he sees it coming. He's been KO'd with sneaky punches that caught him perfect. Cupey
I know. That's why I'm suggesting he take a page out of Ibeabuchi's book. Did you see the combination he knocked Byrd out with. All throughout the fight when Byrd receded to the ropes, Ike was throwing a left to the body and then a right to the head. He lulled Byrd into expecting it everytime. Then, in the round he got him, he switched it up, and threw the left to the chin instead of the right. Byrd didn't see it coming. That's what Lacy needs to do. It's one of the reasons Lacy can't seem to KO anyone. He loads up and his opponents can see his shots coming a mile away. But if he's clever about it, he can get RJJ on the ropes. I don't think RJJ will stop Lacy. Aside from Sheika, who is completely shot and never was very good, who has RJJ stopped recently? I can't think of anyone.
Roy is shot, but luck for him..... so is Lacy. If Roy can fight up to the level he did vs even Tito, he'll beat Lacy with ease.
The shot that glen hit roy with was not sneaky at all, it did smack him behind the ear as he attempted to turn away from the punch, then he fell like a sack of potatoes. You could hear the hollow sound as his head bounced off the canvas. Roy did nothing in round 9 but stand there till Johnson cracked him.
If Roy loses to Lacy, it will be indeed sad. Prime for prime... Roy would have given Lacy the Bryant Brannon treatment.
Yes sir!!! I agree, but Lacy still has enough thunder to drop him. Remember just back in Nov.'08 he put Taylor on the canvas; a guy fighting for the world title this weekend! I'll be the co-main on this card. Don't know whose the opponent just yet. I'll stay focused and win. Then I'm going to walk the winner "Gently into the night" sometime this year.
Johnson did a great job of setting up that punch by throwing left jabs to the body, getting Roy to forget about the right hand and drop his left, then dropping a quick right hand that landed on the button. Cupey
Exactly. Roy had his eye on that punch the whole way. He just didn't have the reflexes that he thought he had to avoid it.
