Just wondering the impression people have of that fight, whether they think RJJ was out-boxed before getting knocked out, or if they think it was a simple case of RJJ not doing anything but laying on the ropes.
No, Johnson Beat the Shit Out of Roy Jones...There was VERY LITTLE "Science" to it Even Though Double L, the Keen Eye BULLSHIT ARTIST will Suggest Otherwise... REED:hammert:
I disagree. Didn't Johnson have some rounds in which he was less effective? Was that just a case of his not wanting to beat the shit out of RJJ quite so much? Or was it a deviation from a fight plan that when executed was giving RJJ fits? Does RJJ win a rematch with Johnson if he made one now? And why didn't he rematch Johnson? I always wondered that given his willingness to have a rubber match with Tarver.
Does Johnson get toyed with and beaten easily by Roy Jones pre-Ruiz? the answer is YES close the thread
There was money to be made w/ Tarver....none w/ Johnson thats why Jones went 3 vs. Tarver..... Johnson would still beat Jones today....but i don't think he will KO JONES TFO like he did the first time... In his PRIME JONES would have toyed w/ Glenn Johnson....
Yes...N those Instances, Johnson was FATIGUED from Whipping Roy's Ass & Also, Roy Actually LANDED Some Decent Head & Bodyshots Here & There, that GOT Johnson's Attention... Nonetheless, Johnson OUTMANNED Roy as Opposed to OutBoxing him... REED:hammert:
What were they competing at? Boxing. Who was winning all the rounds? Johnson. On that night, it goes without saying that Johnson out-boxed Jones.
N the Words SIMPLEST Form, Yes.... But when DEFINING "Boxing" as Opposed to "Brawling", Glencoffe's Success Against Roy was CLEARLY Based on More of the LATTER....Doub's Trying to SUGGEST that Johnson OUTSKILLED Roy Jones in Some Way... REED:hammert:
The difference to Roy-Tito which you obviously refer to is that as soon as Roy wanted to come out of the ropes and hurt Tito, he did it easily, which made it obvious that Tito had stayed in the fight simply because Roy let him. Against Johnson Roy got whupped and could do nothing about it. No comparsion
The man was gunshy coming off his first ktfo, that being said roy took a drubbing. He was beaten to the punch, outboxed, and ultimately laid out with one shot.
What does that (an opinion of yours) have anything to do with the thread and the question it asks? You're an idiot.
It has everything to do with the thread because you will hang onto ANYTHING that might in some way dominish Roy Jones, no matter how circumspect or porous your evidence, no matter how many mitigating factors clearly render your point moot and meaningless your dream is to re-write history to make Roy Jones into a shit fighter, everybody can see this
RJJ lost to Glenn Johnston. My question was simple: in losing, was he out-boxed? It's a legitimate question, is it not?
