I don't know Tam, Gomez not only had 2 fisted power but he can also box.

I'm interested to see other opinions.

Chavez will kill him...even in great victories...Gomez took a lot of punishment...

Comes down to who can TAKE punches here, and that is clearly Julio Cesar Chavez

I think Gomez would win some rounds because of his great skills, but ultimately he could never keep Chavez off of him (few could) and he would start getting battered

Chavez stops him and Gomez looks like a gargoyle by the time its done

I'm not too familiar with Chavez career but did he ever fight a fighter with Gomez fire power? We have seen many fighters in the past with great chins that meet there match. Chin can't win you the fight all the time. What I question is could Chavez had stood up to Gomez punching power? It's a different fight when a opponent manages to crack that chin for the first time. I also believe Gomez was the better boxer.

I'm not saying Gomez wins, I havent seen enough Chavez fights to make a honest prediction. I have however seen many fight's of Gomez and know the man can crack.

I would like to see more opinions. :bears:

I would say Edwin Rosario was a puncher on the level of Gomez and Chavez walked through the best Rosario had to offer.

I don't think Rosario punched quite as good. Powerful perhaps, but he didn't have the sharpness or the accuracy of Gomez. Of course, that comparsion is not fair for Rosario in this p4p fight nonsense.

I refuse to actually make a pick but Chavez was much more complete fighter and his chin and defense could nullify great attackers, whereas Gomez was not at his best when pushed back

x2 on every single thing you said. Especially about p4p fights being nonsense.
