Well what should we call it then, old? Dude looked reluctant as hell to me, all Lopez was doing was target practice. Don't get me wrong Lopez did what he had to do, but beating a guy who didn't come to fight doesn't convince me he'd likewise beat Vazquez.

vasquez has had a long layoff after 3 absolute wars with a guy smaller than lopez. its not even necessarily a big money fight for vasquez.
Marquez is the only fight bigger. Vasquezs eye would be in worse shape then it currently is right now after Juan Ma is done whith him.
I had the exact same feeling - Penalosa looked like he brought a knife to a gun-fight. Kinda sad to watch, but he is as tough as they come... I agree with Steve-Dave here - Juanma would fuck Vasquez up beyond any recognition.
Juanma would beat both Vasquez and Marquez asses.... Juanma needs to pace himself though...in any future fights...throwing 100+ punches every round is unnecessary...a few times there I actually thought that Penalosa was baiting him into the later rounds...Pena was working the body nicely early on....but JUANMA was smart enough to see that Penalosa wanted to Jhonny him w/ those body shots later in the fight so also started going to the body hard and often...
Hard to tell what if anything Vazquez has left. Sitting around for a year being inactive can be harder on a fighter than losing a fight. Juanma is hot and sharp right now and if Israel just came back and fought him now I'd actually pick Lopez. If Vazquez fought a tune up or two and made a serious comeback I wouldn;t be too sure.
