Definitely a good show, Diaz should handle him pretty easily. I will be interested to see if Diaz keeps it standing since thats really the only chance Smith has.

    TFK, what happened to Babalu?

Overeem should just be too techincally solid for Rogers. Rogers is one big SOB though, could land that big bomb and change everything. Definitely fun to watch.

I think Smith has an excellent chance of winning if the fight stays standing. Diaz has little pitty pat punches, and Smith can bang, and is obviously tough as balls. Diaz better hope to take Smith down as he is a much better ground fighter than Smith. I'm surprised more people here aren't pumped for this fight, as it should be a war.

From what I understand, Babalu pulled out of the fight because he has a kid that's supposed to be born right around that day.

I think Overeem needs to be more worried about passing a drug test then he does fighting Rogers. I know Rogers is one dimensional, but that dimension is pretty damn good. I think Overeem is overated, but he's been in there with a lot of great fighters, from Shogun, to Nog, to Liddell, so he's got a huge experience edge.

Diaz has pity pat punches but they add up. We have seen it time and time again, Shamrock, Lawler come to mind right away. But yeah, Smith is a tough SOB, I'm pumped for sure. Has Overeem had problems passing pee tests before?:dunno:

After watching Smith a couple of weeks ago, I would pay to watch him fight a telephone pole. The dude is a warrior.

From a matchup standpoint, I think it's fantastic. Smith will sell-out to get close enough to land big shots. And it's clear he can hurt anyone if he lands. Distance and the ground are the ticket for Diaz.

    Can't wait.

    Yes!!!

I'm not really that pissed my post wasn't real serious, I would have loved to have this show at the HP though and I think if anyone deserves it it's the local fans who have made Strikeforce what it is.

I'll just watch this one on TV and will always support Strikeforce by going to every local show. It's awesome to have legit MMA shows so close to me.

right on Z, you guys are pretty lucky there in the Bay Area. Up here in the Pacific NW, we have the Ax Fighting Championships. Great local shows that have venues in Seattle, Portland, and Spokane. I think they even had a show or two in Boise. A lot of good camps have fighters in it, Team Quest, Matt Hume, Maurice Smith, just to name a few. Nothing on the scale of Strikeforce, but a good night of fights all the same.:partie:

When Strikeforce first started out they were small time, they have definitely grown and I'm glad to have them around. I'm about an hour away from the HP in Santa Cruz. I've still never been to a boxing match there though. I almost went when James Toney was fighting but luckily decided against it. I forget who he fought but it was a horrible fight.
