Lebanese Cuban-born boxing manager and promoter,Yamil Chade, has died of complications from pneumonia and Alzheimer’s disease. Chade, was manager of Gerardo Gonzalez “Kid Gavilanâ€￾ He also managed and contributed in the careers of such great champions as Wilfredo Gomez and Felix “Titoâ€￾ Trinidad, Wilfred Benitez, Carlos "Sugar" DeLeon Sr and a very young Edwin Rosario to name a few. Rest in peace.

    Yup, that was him.
One interesting note on Chade. He signed a still teenager Wilfredo Gomez and guided him to the title and many great fights before Gomez decided to be his own manager. On the Sanchez fight, Chade bet against Gomez not because he had a grudge against him, but because he knew that Gomez was not physically nor mentally ready for Sanchez. and even though he won thousands of dollars on that bet, he was seen crying by ringside and telling reporters, "Look what they (Gomez so-called friends) have done to my boy...my creation! They have ruined him! They let him do whatever he wanted and look at him now!" Chade said in tears. he was a clever businessman, but he did cared about his boxers, even after they were no longer with him.
