Floyd is basically admitting that the only reason he thinks he's going to beat Marquez is because he is bigger?

He actually said "A great big man beats a great little man".

    Floyd sure is stupid.

Motherf*cker won't fight any real challengers. Just little guys or inferior guys. He was scared sh*tless of Margarito for years and he's scared to death of Mosley. How this guy even has fans is beyond me.

He said a great big man beats a good little man. He's not even conceding that JMM is great which clearly he is. He's certainly accomplished as much as PBF and provided his fans with a lot more entertainment.

I too can't understand how anyone can take PBF seriously (or be a fan of his). He must not give boxing fans much credit when it comes to our intelligence if he thinks we don't see through his game.

Hey Mayweather, don't you think it's time you fight a contender in your own weight class? Oh wait. If you did that, one of two things would happen:

    1. you'd lose

    2. it'd be a dreadfully boring fight in which you pot-shot your way to a win and alienate what few fans you have left.

I think PBF's main motivation for facing small guys is so he can make the fight exciting and not have to resort to his hit and split tactics that are necessary when he's not bigger and stronger than his opponent.

I'm really hoping he underestimates Marquez and gets a shock, especially by his power.

It's evident that Marquez can fucking bang at lightweight, and if he can carry his power up just that little bit further, Floyd could be in for a nice surprise.

IE hopefully Floyd treats Marquez like the smaller man, takes more risks than usual, and pays for it.

    Hows Mosleys tooth ache?

    Lets look at options.

Stay with Arum and fight Magarito for 8 mill. Margarito hadn't really proved much at the time. Besides who knew the 8 mill offer was legit. Arum and Margarito had no problem in saying Goosens 4 million dollar rematch offer for P-Will was nothing but bogus.

Leave Arum fight the UNDISPUTED CHAMP at 147 for the same 8 mill gurantee. Then fight Oscar who is much more proven in one of the biggest fights ever, get 25 million, become champ at 154.

If Floyd did fight Margarito you all would have said he hadn't proved shit and was a dumbass for fucking up a possible fight with De la Hoya.

Like Pacquiao, JMM is not only a brilliant fighter, but one with a unique style who's good at making adjustments and setting up big shots.

In the very least yoou have to expect that PBF will find JMM's style to be unlike any that he's faced, and presumably will have trouble solving it.

And like you said, JMM's technique more so than anything has been responsible for the magnificent power he has. So I think as long as they use 8 oz. gloves (and I can't see why they wouldn't), it's hard to imagine that even 4 weigh classes above his best, having demonstrated he's at least carried his power up two weight classes, that he won't be able to hurt PBF - if he can hit him clean, which he is a master at.

The flip-side, though, is that PBF can no doubt hurt JMM as well and this is the key. PBF knows damn well he can't hurt the likes of Clottey, Cotto or Cintron. But none of those guys have the speed that JMM does.

Like you, I hope PBF takes all kinds of chances and allows it to be a brawl. There's no better fighter in the game than JMM at getting the best of exchanges .

A hilarious but disappointing scenario would be if PBF afterall is forced to resort to his hit and split style. He didn't think he would against Baldomir but he quickly realized otherwise. Let's hope that won't be the case against JMM.

Floyd knows JMM is great. I remember seeing an interview with Floyd a couple of years ago where he praised the Marquez bros for being great.

While Mayweather is quite the jackass, I don't see him as stupid enough to totally underestimate Marquez. Floyd will fight in his usual manner and win most of the rounds of the fight.

You'll have to remember this is the Mayweathers we're talking about here. There MO is to degrade and question the skills of the very guys they're about to face. Unless of course the guy is so far out of his league that he'd just be telling us what we already know as in the case for Gatti.

If you'll recall Floyd said Gatti was a great fighter, in fact he was so great Floyd shed tears because he did the impossible....he stopped Gatti.

Yeesh! Just remembering that makes me wonder how much Floyd actually does believe in his own greatness.
Motherfucker actually cried because he stopped Gatti. :atu:

Since we're on the subject of stuff we found amusing....watching one of the slow motion replays, you can see that Hatton's fiance isn't even looking at the ring when he takes the shot that stretches him.

This will be a chess match. Don't dismiss Floyd's chances of dropping or KO'ing Marquez, since he knocked Hatton cold, and Marquez got dropped badly by Barrera and hurt very recently by Juan Diaz. I will be rooting for JMM, but my money is on FM.
