Is Paquiao most accomplished titlist in the sport ever? Yes!

Im not saying Pac's overall achievements compare per se. Only from the narrow perspective of freakish weight-hopping exploits. Remember Hank never weighed more than 144 odd and never fought anyone heavier than 150 odd after starting at 126. Pac has meaningful wins across NINE weight classes, 108-147lb. Obviously so many things make Hank's achievements more impressive than those simple numbers....but even still, from that narrow perspective Im talking about they at least compare.

That's my story anyway and I'm sticking to it:lol:

WHEN is the issue because Pacquiao or any other fighter wouldn't be allowed to match that accomplishment in the modern era.

So you can only speculate if it would be possible in the current era. Based on the fact that Pacquiao jumped from 130-147 hitting every division, grabbing three belts against top fighters, we might speculate that Pacquiao would be able to accomplish the same feat today which is why people compare Pac to the immortal Armstrong.

I'm just talking about weight hopping as a weird, historical anomaly though, mate. That he was undernourished and has grown since doesn't detract from it from that NARROW perspective. Obviously, that there are a million other factors to take into account when weighing up a guys career as one glance at say Carlos Monzon's career vs Dingaan Thobela's will testify.

That I'm disagreeing with Cdogg to take your side is singlehandedly just about enough to make me retract every word I've posted in this fucking thread....

in Armstrongs time, what Pac did wouldnt be nine wieght classes, it would be Flyweight, Bantamweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, Welterweight-- five wieght classes

if we are going to go there, Jimmy McLarnin fought everywehere from flyweight to Welterweight against the best in all divisions and beat the best in those divisions as well

still to me nothing compares to a Featherweight damn near winning the Middleweight title... even if you wanted to be weigth conscious, Ceferino Garcia (a good fighter, btw) would be a JUNIOR MIDDLEWIEGHT in todays world

imagine if Pacquaio won the 126, 135 and 147 titles this year and then had a disputed draw with Cory Spinks... all in one year... thats ridiculous

now you call him the "immortal" Armstrong??

what happened to 5 minutes ago when you were comparing him to "Jimmy "Two Tooth" McGroo" ??

fighters wouldnt be allowed to do that today?? whats stopping them, the WBC, The IBF???

everybody knows none of those belts mean shit anymore anyway

if Pac man went out and beat Mosley tomorrow, he'd have beaten THE Welterweight champion

speculation has nothing to do with anything... YOU said he is THE MOST ACCOMPLISHED ever and thats a bunch of shit

you werent SPECULATING, you were EMPHATICALLY STATING

furthermore, you are a cunt who knows nothing about this sport anyway and if Manny Pacquiao was named Curtis Jefferson and he was a black fellow from Harlem you wouldn't have even started this thread

This is all about being Asian and nothing more

there is as much substance to your opinion as there is to Ron King's

Imagine if Hank had did what he did after winning a world title at Flyweight! Equally ridiculous. As i said, Hank's achievement might be greater, but as an historically anomalous example of freaky-weird championship weight hopping Pac's overall career is at least comparable.

Maybe I've lost some sort of perspective here, but what Pac's done here and the manner in which he's done it just seems absolutely incredible to me.

Pac won 4 LINEAL titles. 1 more than Armstrong. So what does that do to your Armstrong cock sucking now?

    LINEAL???

    PUH-LEEZE

Michael Spinks was the "Lineal" Champion when mike Tyson iced him in a round

everyone knew who the REAL heavyweight camp was, and it wasnt Spinks

are you actually trying to compare LINEAL to UNDISPUTED???

    that is RIDICULOUS

and did pac win all four of these "titles" in the SAME year??

you dont even know what you are talking about

my shits are more knwledgable than you, you dont belong in a discussion about boxing with me

Old-timers and modern fighters can NOT be compared fairly. They just can't. They can't. So let's stick to that and enjoy this time shall we:bears:

Well since you're about 5000 miles away and barely registered a blip on the radar of my life until about 4 hours ago when you suddenly decided to spice up your achingly tedious existence with some sort of petty e-feud with me my answer would have to be 'who knows, who cares?'. Weighing up your claimed e-jui jitsu prowess vs your abject lack of common sense and masculinity might take some time.

I'd probably point at the sky Marty McFly style and shout 'hey Bama look a new mens face care range!' and spark you the fuck out while you gawked.

Hey Bama, do yourself a favor and stop responding to cdogg. You're making yourself look foolish. Watching the two of you debate on the topic at hand is like watching Whitaker/Ramirez 2, and I think we all know who Ramirez is in this one.

I agree, no one will and can never come close to Melody.

However, Garcia really hit Armstrong in that fight, in both fights, and it was a helluva fight, I wouldn't go so far as to call the judging corrupt.

Armstrong may have been the greatest fighter ever, I thought he outworked Garcia and won 10-5, but it's not like he just ran over him.

Going into the fight...I really didn't care who won the Pacquiao-Hatton fight, but now that we've been subjected to the endless chest beating, etc...from the Pac-huggers I find myself really bummed that Hatton didn't win. Because if Hatton won these folks would be conspicuous by their absence right now...much like Tito fans immediately after the Trinidad fight.
