I don't get it. They never showed him sparring as I recall on 24/7, and shouldn't sparring have addressed his inability to change styles? What's the deal here?
I believe he did spar. Im sure of it. It would be ridiculous not to. The problem is there is no sparring partner that can mimic manny. If someone wants to fight Manny, they should volunteer to spar the man for an upcoming fight of his. Take as much experience as possible and train for him. Other than that, you might as well pray you have the right game plan.
I remember reading about how Hatton was getting banged up quite a bit in sparring, black eyes and all.
He could have sparred with Valero thats as close as you can get. Problem is you would be getting beat up in sparring everyday.
Yeah i dont know for sure, but that would make no sense to me. Sparring is dangerous too. I would think you would have to be licensed to spar with a professional boxer. Or even have medical clearence after being banned.
He did alot of sparring all over California. Actually i could be wrong. I was under the impression that he never fought in the US. After checking boxrec he did have 3 fights in Cali. So it is possible that he was sparring only when licensed. Sorry to pass off fact as something that not might be factual but it could be possible that he sparred without being licensed to fight.
Hahaha, valero fights nothing like pacman, nothing at all. He fights like he's got lead weights attached to his feet, and throws awkward yet telegraphed punches. The only similarities are that they are both southpaws and both punchers, that's it.
Hatton interviewed on BBC today. Said he was shocked to be stopped so early by Pac. Said he was hurt by the first knockdown and didn't recover. Apologized to the Brits who traveled to see the fight. He also said he wished the fight would have gone longer and it could have been different but didn't want to talk about it. When the interviewer pressed him he said well, the better men won, but because of how it ended he never did get into the fight. he didn;t want to seem like he was making excuses. Much has been made about the terrible gameplan he and Mayweather had but truthfully it was just the first round. If he weas rocked by the first knockdown, it changed how he reacted to everything else until the final punch.
It was made by a guy who has always thought Hatton was garbage but somehow thinks Pac is now the GOAT because he beat "garbage." There are about five or six guys here who fall into that category. Hatton was garbage and his career has all been a sham according to them. But by beating a garbageman with a hoax of a career, the same guys want to elevate Pac to GOAT.

But what we already know: Lara (southpaw) gave him trouble in sparring (mind, Lara is quite a talent himself) Mayweather worked with Hatton on the mitts, in an orthodox stance Mayweather frequently turned up to sessions late Mayweather and Lee Beard didn't get on Freddie Roach was spoken to by Team Hatton about the possibility of training Ricky in the future
Technically, the Muhammed Ali act makes it illegal for a suspended fighter to spar. The wording is a bit vague, but I think it's pretty straight forward. Now, I don't what Valero's actual status is. Is he suspended or just unlicensed? Regardless, the Muhammed Ali act is enforced less than jaywalking, so who really cares?
Sr really digs Taco Bell, in fact when given the choice between taco bell and showing up for work on time, it's apparent that Sr would chose Taco Bell every time. I'm not sure because I had a bad stream but I could have sworn I saw Sr, eating Taco Bell when he wasn't working the corner.
