Styles make fights. Duran is not quick enough to get close and Manny would nail him with counters all night long. Manny TKO 7

nobody nails the prime 135 Duran with counters all night long, he was like a fucking cat

since when is Pacquaio some master counterpuncher??

theres a big fucking difference between countering Ricky Hatton and Roberto Duran

I can see Pacquiao hurting Duran early, but Duran would continually get to him with that right hand and he'd slip a lot of punches and work the body... not to mention the headbutts, elbows and low blows that would be coming his way and throwing him offof his game... Duran gradually wears him down and stops him late

    DURAN

Pacquiao is a very underrated counter puncher since he hasn't been using that style for long. Duran would be effective if he got close but I don't think he would do it enough: Manny's quick feet and sharp counters would be too much for him.

Hatton didn't get through two, Duran might make it to middle rounds before quitting

    Pac KO 10 Robinson?
    Pac KO 8 Hagler?
    Pac KO 8 Ali?

:lol:the weird thing to me is, people are ready recognize that Pacquiao truly is a great fighter, but not that he could actually beat some other great fighters. I have noticed similar pattern with many other modern greats

I have no problem with someone picking Duran, but anybody should recognize it is a valid match-up

those guys are greats for a reason... this is DURAN we are talking about

at his peak from 1970-1980, you could count on one hand the amount of fighters THAT good EVER

same goes for Sweet Pea at his peak

I dont see Pac-man being able to beat either one of them, sorry

I'm not so sure your blanket statement holds water. I don't see anyone here whose opinion actually matters thinking that Pacquiao is an easy outing for Duran.

And I also don't think folks picking Duran would go to the extreme that you have gone here with picking Pac. If anything, you are doing what you are accusing others of...making it an easy fight for the current fighter.

Manny gets fucked up. Lets not overrate Manny now. He destroyed Hatton, very impressive... but hardly enough to pick over a prime Duran. The problem for Manny in this fight is that a prime Duran had the quickness n skill to find Manny alot, and although Manny has a good chin, I dont see him taking Duran's right hand all night long. Great fight, but Duran stops him inside 9.

This would be a toss up. Pacquiao is faster of foot and hand.

Pacquiao by mid-rounds stoppage by accumulation on the ropes.
