Reading through the threads it's clear that JMM is now a well liked and well respected fighter. It's amazing because as recently as three or four years ago people had nothing but bad things to say about him - that he was boring, that the only time he stepped up he lost (Norwood), blah blah blah. That was when Arum promoted him, correct? Is he still promoted by Arum, or does G promote him? If so, you have to give G some credit, but most of all you have to congratulate and admire the way Marquez has managed to turn his career around and capture the imaginations of fans everywhere. I'm not sure he would've got his shot against Barrera or Pacquiao had he not changed up his style a bit and become more aggressive and more willing to lead. In my mind, if JMM wins four rounds it will be a moral victory for him, given the ludicrous size difference he faces and the fact that he's fought most of his career at 126. And if PBF can't knock him out, I think his stock goes down - that's what a farce this matchup is. Anyways, just reflecting on how far JMM has come from being text-book counter-puncher to a boxer-puncher knock-out artist. I see JMM as doing what El Finito never did - and his wallet will surely show it.
NICE!!!... So U're MORE than Willing to DISCREDIT Floyd if he DOESN'T KO Marquez OR Prevent him from Winning 4 Rounds, Yet U Flat Out REFUSE to Give Floyd even a MODICUM of Credit if he Does 1, the Other, or BOTH... REED:boohoo:
F.Y.I., REED's Opinion of JM Marquez was ALTERED After the RE w/Manny Pac...REED Felt like JM Shamelessly DUCKED an IMMEDIATE RE w/Pac, yet when they Finally Did it Again, REED had JM Winning.... From There, JM was the 1st to KO Casamayor AND Juan Diaz (REED Saw this Particular Fight IN PERSON), Thus Making REED a FAN... REED:bears:
so if Mayweather fails to knock him out, he sucks but if he does KO him, its only because of the size difference so in other words, nothing Mayweather does will change Trouble Mel's opinion of him Trouble Mel cant lose
marquez has been knocking the shit out of guys for years. he didnt just suddenly become a knockout artist.
Marquez became the man cause he started fighting the best in his division......bottom line.....NOTHING else... MAB/MORALES fighting each other..and other top guys Hamed/Pac..and Marquez seated on the bench pulling his dick.....he got off the bench and became the SHIT.... You fight the best...you don't get much shit from the fans...Look at Pacquiao..fighting top guys for years....most people love him(AM in a sexual way) Mayweather ducking/avoiding(or whatever u want 2 call it) Margarito, Mosley, Cotto...and most top WELTERs from the last 2-3 years...u are dislike and get shitted on....even w/ all ur skills.
yes. i've explained several times that this is a no win situation for PBF, save for the money he'll make and the virtual impossibility of his losing.
yeah but he takes a lot more chances than he used to. whereas he used to take the KO if the opportunity presented itself, it's clear now that he wants to knock his opponent out.
yeah but in order to get into the mix he had to impress. i think he wanted the big fights all along but there wasn't much of a demand for it. his biggest claim to fame for years was Hamed shamelessly ducking him for years. just occurred to me. imagine if Hamed hadn't ducked JMM, and it was he who exposed Hamed and not Barrera?
You're horrible Double. Even if you were rich as hell with lots of girls I would rather be a homeless bum with AIDS rather than have your stupid brain. I would go again to explain how wrong you are as always and how much you fall in contradictions but at this point everyone knows what you stand up for. Needless to say, despite your constant rants, this one will be a good fight. The size difference won't be nearly as showing as you insist and the winner and loser will have something to win and lose depending on how the fight goes.
Wow!!! This boxing thing is real important to you, isn't it? I know the debate is over when you come back with a statement like that. How childish. I don't think you will find what you need to grow up spending too much time here.
Delahoya would have not gotten credit for beating a small pac. Why would Floyd get cridit for beating Marquez? floyd been figthing at 147 for years. How many fights did marquez have above 135? Manny did well above 135, only because he never got hit flush. The only reason people give Hatton a shot, is the what if (what would happen if hatton landed a flush shot)When was the last time pac got hit flush? 4 fights ago by marquez at 130. We don't know if manny can handle a punch at 140. But at least manny is tested, by beating hoya and Hatton. So he has something to bring to the table when he fights Floyd. Marquez is one of the best fighters right now, but what advantage those he have versus the bigger man Floyd? both counter puncher, both has great skills diffence wise. Floyd just bigger, faster, and stronger. Marquez p4p 1 if he wins. Floyd bitch ass for taking this fight instead of Pac/Mosley/Cotto/Marg/Cottley.
I am one who called him boring and methodical. He was. He's not as good now, but he's a far better watch.
that's bullshit! Yo make it sound like JMM just didn't want to fight the top competition for years. That's bullshit! He was ducked and not because guys like Morales and Barrera or Hamed were scared. He was just too good and too technical to either beat him or to look good against. the only knock I have on JMM is not taking that imediate rematch against pacquiao. that whole situation going to Indonesia was a fucking disaster. To make matters worst Bob Arum put him on the shelf as well as his brother Rafael. It became a thing were they just wanted to leave Top Rank. The moment they did their carreers took off. JMM has been an awesome fighter for years. It's cool that some people are coming around though.
