He wants to get back at Manny for showing him up with his thrashing of his 2 biggest opponents as of late in Oscar and Hatton (yes he knew Pac was going to demolish Hatton, his trainer and his father were in his camp and his friend sparred with Ricky and faked a knockdown for 24/7 cameras).

So by abusing and possibly stopping JMM he gets back at Pac for having an easier time with Oscar and Hatton.....Get it?

Maybe...we will see how Mayweather comes out for the fight....he needs to brutalize Marquez ko him early.....dominating over 12 lopsided rounds is not going to do it....

considering how Manny Pac destroyed Mayweather biggest victories....anything less than a KO by Mayweather is useless....*if he wants to send a message to the world*

What the hell!? So Floyd needs to KO EARLY one of the best fighters in the world, a fighter that arguably has never been defeated and has never been KO'ed due to his superb boxing skills. You're telling me that Floyd, a natural boxer counter-puncher with a defensive orentation needs to KO him early or else he will look bad and lose points?

Come on now. This is getting out of control. Floyd is fighting a better fighter than Manny fought last saturday. Would anybody pick Hatton over JMM? It's all good we hate Floyd, he's a nasty character but let's be fair about it. Boxing is boxing and both JMM and Floyd will have their hands full on the ring.

it's certainly not tit for tat though when you consider JMM spent nearly his entire career at 126 and 130, whereas Pacquiao, having begun his career as a fly-weight, made easy work of two guys, one of whom PBF struggled mightily with and the other enjoying spots of success and controlling the pace of the first half of the fight, before being KO'din the 10th.

JMM spent that time there because that's where the big fights were for him. Now that the big fights are at 140/147 he's moving up and he's been KO'ing asses. Does JMM has to beat up Hatton (As he would) for him to become a legit threat to PBF? That's just stupid.

Yeah. I think he needs to prove he's still a threat at "143" in order for this fight to be anything but nice pay-day for JMM and a chance for PBF to come out of retirement and retain his undefeated record.

huh? if there were big fights there, he didn't get any of them. Manny was the first major fight that JMM managed to negotiate and that was years after he'd won fight after fight at 126.

Hamed was the big fight off the bat, and he ducked JMM. And MAB and Morales weren't interested in fighting anyone but eachother.

What big fights were there for JMM, prior to the Pacquiao fight? There's no question JMM was a ducked fighter for years who didn't have much of a following.

JMM didn't move up to "143" because he was a feather-weight.

Before Saturday night?? YES many people would have picked Hatton over Marquez....

Mayweather is fighting a smaller guy who has no experience fighting at 143...yeah..yeah Marquez and Mayweather were just 4 pounds apart......8 YEARS AGO...since then Mayweather has moved up and face bigger guys and has grown into his division....

Mayweather has every advantage over Marquez...speed/power/defense/chin/footwork..everything...and is the natural bigger guy. Marquez looked smallish against Casamayor and Diaz...

OKAY.....maybe not EARLY....but MAYWEATHER is going to need a KO..if he wants to steal back some of that thunder Pacquiao took from him...

I agree. If Mayweather's goal is to make any kind of statement he has to put in a dominating peformance, punctuated by a knockout.

If he potshots his way to a decision it aint gonna do it for him.

He's already a huge favorite, simply getting the 'W' won't impress anyone.
    (other than dickriders or course)

Floyd took the JMM fight because JMM is a name, he is small and he is stupid enough to cash out and fight at a weight he doesn't belong.

    That about sums it up.

The manly thing for Floyd to have done.......was to wait until after the fight, and then come out of retirement to face Manny.

Why come out to face a guy that hasn't ever fought in as heavy a weight class as you??

    Fucking Floyd sucks ass!:flip:

Guys. Stop being fags. Fighters go up in weight. The really good ones win, the kind of good win some, lose some. The bad ones lose but hey, they were losing before too. That is, unless they're shot or facing a better fighter.

    Mayweather-Castillo/DLH
    Hopkins-Tarver
    RJJ-Ruiz
    Pacquiao-DLH/Hatton
    JMM-Diaz
    Penalosa-Gonzalez

    Plenty of examples.

I'm not damning JMM for doing it. HE is facing the bigger man.

My point is that Floyd is coming out of his retirement to face a guy who has never fought above 135,....a weight class Floyd hasn't competed in , in years.

    That's my point pal.:kidcool:

as much as I like JMM that is the reason I think Floyd picked this fight and will also KO JMM at some point.

He knows he has to perform better than Pacquiao did against JMM

Floyd has a lot of pressure not to win but to look great against JMM

What!!? Talk about pulling a statement out of your ass. It's common knowledge that the smaller the weight class the smaller your purse. No, Manny started at those small weights because that was the size he was. I don't know why he cut his weight so low that it hurt him, but that had to have been the size he was around. Maybe there was another reason but it for damn sure wasn't because that's where the big fights were.

Completely disagree Floyd has to KO JMM to impress. If he dominates with great defense and offense that should be enough. Floyd is not the puncher Manny is so it would be unfair of you haters to hold him to that level. You don't hear anyone calling for Manny to hook off the jab, slip 8 punches a rd, or cut off the ring do you? No. If Floyd totally dominates JMM in his usual style of hit and not getting hit and looks great doing it, that will be good enough to impress me.
