HDNET TO AIR LIVE COVERAGE OF "HDNET FIGHTS PRESENTS: OLYMPIA DREAM 9 FEATHERWEIGHT GRAND PRIX, 2nd ROUND"

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Catch former MLB Slugger Jose Canseco in his MMA debut, early Tuesday morning, May 26 at 12:00 a.m. PT

WHAT: HDNet will broadcast exclusive coverage of "HDNet Fights Presents: OLYMPIA DREAM 9 Featherweight Grand Prix, 2nd Round 2009," early Tuesday morning, May 26, at 12:00 a.m. PT LIVE from the esteemed Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa, Japan.

MMA fans can catch former MLB slugger Jose Canseco who will be making his mixed martial arts debut in the open weight competition entitled the "Super Hulk" Tournament vs. 7-foot-2 and 330-plus pound Hong-Man Choi from Korea.

Gegard Mousasi, Mark Hunt, and Bob Sapp will also compete in first round action in the "Super Hulk" tournament.
    *******************************************************

What the FUCK is Canseco thinking?

"If I'm gonna get brain damage and be embarrassed, it might as well be against a real Goliath so that I won't remember who I am!":lol:

And if he survives, which is HIGHLY unlikely to happen, he gets to face someone like Bob Sapp or Mark Hunt. I must admit, I'll be watching this with a cold beer. He will get CREAMED!

So steriods are allowed for this event?

Did you guys see the recent documentary on Canseco? His body doesn't produce enough testosterone naturally for him to stop using the juice. Seriously.

In spite of being the smallest fighter, he should win easy. He's pretty much the only legit fighter there, other than Soak-A-Jew, who is legit, just not very good.

Hunt is tough as nails, you are right on that Bob. His size and strength will be hard for Mousasi. It will be an awkward matchup for Mousasi for sure

He could easily win it. I just think Mousasi is tooooo smart of a fighter to lose to Hunt. Mousasi is in P4P top 10 talks while Mark Hunt is a banger with a granite chin.

1st Round went pretty much as expected. Sapp gets submitted easily. Canseco goes out and makes a fool out of himself, tapping while barely getting hit, and throwing in a fake injury for good measure, Soak-A-Jew embarasses the sport of MMA with a disgraceful display, hitting Norte at least 5 times after the ref jumped in between them, and Mousasi easily subs Hunt, who, contrary to what some here have said, sucks.

Sapp needs to go back to movies and Pro Wrestling, because he's just a terrible fighter. Canseco should go back to being a Z-Level celebrity on the reality show circuit, because he makes Sapp look like Fedor. Soak-A-Jew should not only be DQ'd, but should be blacklisted by all the MMA organizations. There have been fighters who swung after the bell, or held onto a submission too long, but this was a disgrace. And Mousasi should be ashamed of himself for even being part of this joke.

I DVR'd the card, so I'm gonna watch the rest of the show...the legit MMA part...later.

You can't bust on Mousasi too much, the guy is looking for a paycheck. He did exactly what he was supposed to do and with class. Soakajew should be blacklisted for sure. I hope Mousasi gets a chance to tell him sweet dreams and a bedtime story.:crafty:

indeed, I was wrong about Hunt,in fact, I suspected strongly he would make an ass of himself by coming 40 lbs heavier than he was vs Fedor, but that was worse than what I imagined, he was just terrible, getting easilly submitted. the 1st round was disapointing, Canseco was scared,he should really be ashamed of himself, faking the knee injury was pathetic, as was wanting to quit after eating a jab. Sapp and Hunt were both a big letdown, the only ''decent'' fight was sokoudjou and Nortje, and sokoudjou really made an ass of himself by continuing to hit Nortje after the ref stopped it. But like I did with Rampage, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt even thought it seemed more like disgusting sportmanship

talking of bad sportsmanship, Miller wasn't any better than Soukoudjou for kicking Jacare while he was obviously on the ground then trashtalking him when they were stopping the fight to check the cut ( caused by his illegal kick )

a lot of person thinks that the sapp fight was a fix. Possible since when he was on top, he didn't even try to Ground and pound minowas. And sapp as a pretty brutal gnp game against midget.
