A few days ago my pal from work who lives down the road from Ken Buchanan texted me telling me he was planning a comeback. I dismissed it as a silly local rumour, especially since we had both just realized a few days before that he lived next to the guy & it seemed a tad coincidental. But I'll be damned if it isn't true.... 63 years old by the way, with a long term alcohol problem by most accounts.

I see him at the Boxing Hall of Fame every year. He seems to be in pretty good shape for an older guy.

Don't know about the alcohol and the painkillers though.

Well in fairness I'm just going on my pals say so on that one. He had seen him at a couple of local shin digs and the word on the street was the man like a swally. He actually didn't know who he really was until I explained it to him. He just knew he was a local boxer, he was quite impressed when I told him he was actually a genuinely outstanding fighter. Although as is doubtless the bane of Mr.Buchanan's life the conversation quickly turned to Duran.

If he needs the money I hope it goes well and he's safe.

If his comeback does not work out, it proves that Roberto Duran was a fraud:bears:

You would be proud of him Hut Hut! He puts on a kilt and Scottish beret and wears it the whole weekend.

Very cordial guy and he usually brings a lot of his family and mates over with him. They seem like a really great crowd. I brought my parents up one year and I believe it was his niece, or maybe a cousin who sat down and chatted with my Mom for well over an hour.

Buchanan isn't old enough to qualify as an opponent for Calz

one of my all time favorite fighters

the fact that this could even possibly be allowed to happen speaks volumes about the disgusting lack of accountability in boxing

You need to read the article. He's talking of coming back in unlicensed fights...................Kimbo style.

NOT another black eye for boxing. :nono:
