Chris Henry arrested and tasered for possible PCP use, fight in jepordy!

A man who Orange police arrested Tuesday for public intoxication and resisting arrest is Orange native and current Houston-based boxer Chris Henry, according to Maj. Mike Broussard with the Orange Police Department.
Police used a Taser to subdue Henry.
Henry, 28, is an Ozen High School graduate who in February was on ESPN2 in a championship light-heavyweight boxing match.
At the time, the 6-foot Henry had knocked out 18 boxers and won 23 times in 24 professional bouts in four years. His lone loss came on a judge's decision against a Romanian boxer in Romania, according to a February Beaumont Enterprise article.
Henry was arrested about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday in the 3600 block of Kenwood Street after a witnesses called Orange police to report that a man was yelling and walking in circles in the street. Police reported that Henry's girlfriend, who lives on Kenwood, told them he had smoked PCP.
The police report states that the man "continued to jump around and yell, displaying signs of someone that had been smoking PCP."
The girlfriend as well as another woman in the area told police they saw the man holding a pistol, but police were unable to recover a weapon at the scene.
"I believed that he was intoxicated to the point that he was a danger to himself and others. Fearing that he may a gun on his person or close to the area, we told the subject to get on the ground, but he would not comply. For officer safety, I deployed my Taser X26 and fired one shot into the front torso of the subject," Officer Weldon Smith wrote in the report.
The man fell to the ground and continued to resist arrest as the officers put him in handcuffs.
Acadian ambulance was called to the scene to check the man's vital signs and treat abrasions on his face from his fall to the ground, the report states.
Henry was then booked into the Orange County Jail for Resisting Arrest and Public Intoxication.

People are not tried and convicted in the Houston Chronicle, we as citizens of the USA are granted the presumption of innocence in the Constitution.

You have just heard one side of the story, and as we all know..the police version is not always the truthful version.

This is a lynching in the media of Chris, that people are piling on and running with it, without knowing all of the facts, evidently.

It is nice to know that "pug" is such a good, unbiased, and loyal friend that he jumps to conclusions based on an ill written article that looks like it was written by a third grader, without knowing all of the facts and circumstances surrounding the charges, and I don't know all of the facts myself, but I know we are all presumed innocent until found guilty.

I don't wish Chris any ill-will and if this turns out to be true then I hope he gets his life together.

I seriously doubt anyone on the board wants to have bad things happen to the guy...more than anything they want to take shots at Karl who overhyped a medicore fighter.

I am a writer and know the difference between fact and rumor and if you didnt notice in the title I said "Possible PCP use" also, I am not trying to flame Chris, he is a friend to me even if you dont think so but I also feel that boxing fans should know about this, not to jump all over him but to keep him in their thoughts and prayers because that is what he needs, he has a major problem even if it wasnt PCP, he still has a alcohol issue and needs help.
Also, It isnt like I jumped right up and put this thread up right when I heard about the story, I made calls myself and verified way before I started typing here and another thing, I put it on other forums before here, just because it's Chris doesnt mean that these people shouldnt know, Chris is known here and the site has gave his alot of publicity, they should know what happens to him and if his fight is going to be cancelled and according to Spags it is already.
If you want to blame me and say all kinds of shit, namedrop me and question my "bias" and "Loyality" then so be it, frankly I dont give a damn what you or anyone for that matter thinks about me, but I will tell you something, every time Chris needed footage on somebody I always helped him and still will, I dont see anything wrong with what I did and the more people know about this maybe it will help Chris get the much needed help that he deserves to get his career on track.
