http://mmamania.com/2009/05/28/ramp...-coach-opposite-rashad-evans-on-tuf-10-audio/ This is good news and bad news. It sucks that we won't see Machida\Rampage, but I think Evans\Rampage is a good fight. The best part is, now that Machida isn't coaching TUF as rumored, the 205 LB Title won't be held up due to taping. I love TUF, and I love the concept of the two coaches fighting at the end of the season, but I can't stand when they make it for a title fight. Title fights are title fights, they don't need any additional hype. It's not fair to the fighters and the fans to have to wait upwards of 9 months for a title defense. Evans\Rampage is the perfect example of what a TUF Coaches fight should be. It does strike me as odd that Rampage is passing on a title shot. Either he must have doubts in his own ability to beat Machida, or somehow Dana White convinced him that there's more money in a fight with Evans. And since it wasn't mentioned in the article, it's been reported that this season of TUF will be all heavyweights, with no elimination fight to get in to the house. TFK
not sure who reported that to you, but I know for a fact that the tryouts here in Seattle were for HW's and MW's. I am a Rampage fan. But this doesn't suprise me at all. I have taken notice lately that Rampage is more interested in being in front of the camera rather than titles or anything else for that matter. His personality is perfect for the TUF show so it works out great for Dana. I like the way this worked out, because it gives us Rampage/Griffin as well as Lyoto/Rua. They should make it to where winners fight and losers fight too.artie:
If Shogun shakes the rust from his knee surgeries and comes in top form...this fight can be interesting. It can be the MMA version of Pacquiao Marquez
Thanks man, just talked to a friend of mine who tried out for the MW's and he pretty much told me exactly what you just posted. Teaches me to question the mighty TFK:kidcool: BTG is right, if Shogun comes in shape for this fight its going to be great.
Thank God Rua beat Liddell, otherwise we'd be seeing Machida vs Liddell....and that might well have been the UFC's first homocide. TFK
It has to be, I agree. Can't blame him though. The career for an MMA fighter is not very long and your time on top is even shorter. Gotta get that money while you can.:kidcool:
I fucking love Rampage, one of the most entertaining individuals in sport history. :hammert: Two months of him coaching will make brilliant TV.
