Supposedly its the works. The undecard would be Martinez vs Joe Greene. I definitely like this matchup more than Cintron-Martinez II.

I think Tall Paul will beat the shit outta Kermy and stop him. Cintron was better off facing Paul at 147. Now that Williams is at a more comfortable weight, and has improved... Cintron has very little chance. Williams is too quick, too tough, and sets too high a pace for Cintron to handle. Kermit has crap stamina, and thats gonna really kill him in this fight. Williams TKO 9 if it comes off.

i don't think there is much point to this fight. hasn't cintron proven he is not on this level? he needs to rematch martinez or something else before going up to williams. i should think paul would have bigger fish to fry

Interesting fight. I agree that Williams wins but I disagree about Cintron having crap Stamina. In his last fight he threw over 1K punches. He was totally gassed in the 12th but I found that very impressive. Cintrons only shot is if he manages to hurt Paul a few times. I don;t see it happening though, Cintron hasnt shown that 1 punch ko power against the better opposition.

Santos has been way too inactive. Its a shame too because I would have favored Santos to knock Williams the fuck out.

This match-making wouldn't really surprise me from Williams' camp.

If it happened, I'd probably just catch it on a replay.

This fight is interesting for the fact that in the back of the minds of many, Cintron has that 1 punch that can change things around. I don't see it happening but in boxing you never know.

Williams stop Cintron inside of 8 rounds......in a very uncompetitive fight....

when only winky wright dares to fight you, you must be the most avoided fighter today. Williams must feel frustrated.

If this fight happens i give Cintron mad credit. Martinez, Angulo and Williams in 1 year thats some crazy competition. I don't expect him to win but he should be good enough to at least land big right hands.

There's other fighters, certainly ones better than Cintron, willing to fight Williams.

But it does sound better the way you've worded it.

Last time I checked I havent seen too many volunteers to fight Williams. Cintron is at least a name people know and has a decent punch. Williams defense has holes so this fight will be very interesting.

Not to sound like a Mayweather fan...but what do WILLIAMS have to offer??? Is he a big draw anywhere? NO.....Do casual boxing fans recognize him as a P4P fighter? NO.......can he sell PPV's?...NO..

Crying about being the most avoided and fighting every 5-6 months is not going to get you to the promise land...

    I'd say PW KO 5.

Don't be shocked at Cintron accepting this fight. Like many of the posters here, he is just overrating the performance he gave against Angulo and he's going to take a beating for it too. Cintron isn't on this level and he's going to learn that by having the info beaten into his ass.

On another note, Spinks was trying to get a fight with Cintron too, but I would think Cintron would chose the better known PW as his opponent.

I don't have much faith in Cintron but if he manages to hurt Williams he may pull the win. Williams get's tagged and there is no telling how he will react if he does get hurt. I hope this fight get's made. Carlos Quintana stunned Williams a few times with excellent counters, Cintron punches much harder.

    Excellent counters...that sounds like Cintron.

If all Puerto Rican's counter-punch the same, Cintron should have a good chance.

The bottom line is Williams gets hit, he's far from a defensive genius and this is where Cintron has a chance.

Williams is very hittable due to the number of punches he throws. If Cintron can catch him with one of his murderous combinations (see the Mathysse fight) he'll have a chance.

On the other hand, Williams has been sitting down on his punches a lot more than he did at 147 where he was probably afraid of tiring himself out by loading up. This of course means Williams could put Cintron on the deck for 10.

Also, Cintron has always had a height advantage or been at least as tall as his opponents. And his style is built around that. It will be interesting to see how he deals with William's height.

Cintron has to CHANCE...NONE...even lesss than he would have vs. Mosley/Cotto..those guys are smaller than him and he could catch 'em coming in with something....vs. Williams he doesn't have a prayer...

My fellow Boricua, History has shown us time and time again that anything can happen in boxing. I'm not saying Cintron is going to win, but with a punch like that and a opponent who isnt hard to find he does have a chance.

Are you being serious with that first sentence?

Cintron just teed-off on Matthysse. He had almost nothing thrown back at him. Matthysse didn't even really throw after being dropped to start the second round - he barely threw before it - and about all he did to avoid that combination was leave his left hanging out in no man's land nicely for Cintron to throw at his chin unobstructed.

And on top of that who the fuck is Matthysse? Did anyone ever hear of this clown before Cintron fought him? :dunno: You know Bojado used to look like a killer puncher too when he was fighting bums. If Cintron was this devastating puncher everyone claims he is, he would have taken decent fighters like Reid and Estrada out a lot earlier than the 8th & 12th rds with the way those 2 fights played out. But no, everyone doesn't look at his punching ability against B level opposition, they'd rather bring up Matthysse, the one fight in several years where Cintron looked like a beast.

Here's some info about Matthysse that just screams "chinny":

Paul Williams had already stopped him a year before Cintron, after Cintron knocked him in 2, he got knocked out in 5 by Sebastian Lujan right after that fight and then got knocked out AGAIN in 6 rounds by Alex Bunema after that.

I'll say it again, Cintron is not underrated but apparently his power is still overrated.

dude I know you hate Cintron but you go overboard.

YOur actually criticizeing him for eventually accepting a fight with Williams because you think he is overrating his performance?

Most thought Angulo would beat him and he proved everyone wrong.

Cintron is not gonna beat Paul Williams. But if he fights him at all that is more than I can say for the so called best from 147-160
