If Chambers is being mentioned, is Dimitrenko also being mentioned?

Dimitrenko has no interest at all to fight anybody good, but apparently Odlanier Solis thinks he can do a Sanders on Wladimir. Not to be too harsh on Solis, but if you can´t touch Julius Long, you ain´t beating Wladimir.

It's getting obvious Valuev won't fight anyone good unless he has no choice to ( like he did for Ruiz and Chagaev ), he wouldn't even face fucking Kali Meehan as a substitue when Chagaev was uncleared to fight last weeken. The best choice would obviously be Chagaev, Wlad said that if he was in Valuev shoes, he wouldn't have a problem facing him and now his is chance to prove it. Ruiz would be the next best choice has we are pretty much guaranteed he would take the bout on short notice, and for all the hate he gets for making boring fight, he's the only one who made a Valuev fight watchable and his fight with Chagaev was very close and a strong candidate for foy at hw. Then there's the Meehan, Maskaev or Chambers, all very unapealing fight

I am hella dissappointed as I was making big time room to watch this fight with friends, I was telling anyone who would listen at work and around the way that this would be a good heavyweight fight worth watching...now this happens and as brother REED mentioned when a guy talks so much shit for him only to pull out its double the dissappoinment...

The heavyweight division sucks. It has sucked for years......but NEVER this bad.

Not that I'm hurling any criticism towards Haye per se',...but the division sucks and is disappointing and has been for a long time.

No wonder Wlad and Vitaly are virtually unmatched.:atu:

Actually it wasn't about Valuev. The German TV wasn't ready to pay enough for that fight

i heard from quite a few sources that Valuev wouldn't face either of them because he had trained to fight a southpaw

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Valuev didn't want the fight either but there were many sides to the story. Meehan told me that he wasn't even offered the fight even though he had accepted it but instead they offered it to Brewster which the TV company probably saw as more interesting fight. Also, Meehan is Don King's fighter s King wouldn't have accepted the fight with any less money as now he got a leading role to make the next WBA fights (as he got Chagaev aside)

The fight would've been over quickly or boring as hell in any case. I couldn't care less that it is cancelled. The heavyweight division isn't even like boxing to me anymore.

Why not Povetkin? Or a Sam Peter rematch? He doesn't train anyways.

Valuev is a waste of time, from what my german allows me to understand, he turned down Wlad because he trained for a shorter opponent ( by like 4 inches ) and didn't trained for a week.:doh: And I use to like to guy a lot, would still root for him vs Wlad and most of the division but it's obvious now that he's content in his role of freakshow and will keep fighting C level opponent as long as the WBA alllows him

John Ruiz, Odlanier Solis, Kevin Johnson & Brian Minto Want A Shot At Wladimir Klitschko

LAS VEGAS (June 4, 2009) – If the WBA doesn’t rule in favor of a petition filed for two-time WBA heavyweight champion John “The Quietman” Ruiz (43-8-1, 29 KOs) to fight WBA heavyweight champion Nicolai Valuev for the title, Ruiz is prepared to replace injured David Haye as IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko’s opponent June 20 in Germany..

“I am committed to fighting for the WBA title again because I am the mandatory challenger,” Ruiz explained. “I was robbed twice and I want to knockout ‘The Giant’ this time and take the fight out of the hands of the judges. If the WBA doesn’t stand by its rules and mandate a fight between me and Valuev, I am fully prepared to fight Klitschko, even on short notice.”

Ruiz’ attorney/advisor, Tony Cardinale, has called Klitschko’s manager, Shelly Finkel, to let him know that if the WBA fails to mandate Valuev-Ruiz III that Ruiz will be ready, willing and able to fight Klitschko.

Odlanier Solis ready for Wladimir Klitschko

After David Haye had to pull out of his showdown with IBF/WBO/IBO champion Wladimir Klitschko due to a hand injury ARENA’s heavyweight sensation Odlanier Solis offers to step in for the challenger right away. “I am ready to go”, states Solis. “If Wladimir Klitschko dares to accept me as opponent I promise to expose him and strip his championship belts from him.”

The three-time world amateur champion and 2004 Olympic gold medallist has had an outstanding amateur career winning 227 of his 241 amateur fights. Since turning pro for German based promoter Ahmet Öner in April 2007 (knocking out then reigning German champion Andreas Sidon in one round) “La Sombra” scored 13 wins in as many pro-fights including 9 kos. In his last outing in January 9th reigning WBC international champion Solis gave his US debut on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights outclassing and stopping “Big Man” Kevin Burnett.

“I am the new generation, the best boxer in the world today and I am ready to prove it”, says Solis. “I stopped David Haye in only 3 rounds (at the world amateur championships 2001 in Belfast 2001) and I will do the same to Wladimir Klitschko. There is no worthy opponent in the world today for the Klitschkos but me. Now that I am reunited with my old trainer Pedro Diaz nobody can stop me on my way to the top. If Wladimir thinks I’m joking he should just accept the challenge and meet his successor on June 20th. I will be the next undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.”

Kingpin Kevin Johnson Ready To Go To Germany

Undefeated and world ranked heavyweight contender Kevin Johnson (22-0-1, 9KO) has one question for The Klitschko Management Group, "What time does the next flight to Germany leave?" Johnson, coming off an impressive TKO victory over undefeated US Olympic Team Captain Devin Vargas on May 15th looks to prove he is the leading US heavyweight contender and next heavyweight champion. "It's as simple as picking up the phone and calling Star Boxing," Johnson stated after learning that David Haye pulled out of his June 20th match with Wladimir Klitschko. "I'm ready to show the entire world what boxing experts already know, the next heavyweight champion of the world is from the United States and his name is Kevin Johnson."

Brian Minto Wants A Shot A Klitschko

WBO#9 Heavyweight Brian "The Beast" Minto (33-2 21kos) says that he is available to fight WBO champ Wladimir Klitschko. "I am ready and willing to face Wlad in 2 1/2 weeks at Veltins-Arena. "After a tune-up 6 weeks ago, I never left the gym. I am in shape and ready to go!" stated Minto. A winner of 6 straight and 15 of his last 16, Minto does appear to be a viable replacement for the WBO title now that Haye is out.

Having fought in major fights on German soil before, Minto is also undefeated on both HBO (TKO7 of Vinnie Maddelone (25-2) and RTL (TKO6 of former IBF Title Challenger Axcel Shultz (26-4). "I'm not only the best American heavyweight, but I have always interacted well with the German fans. If given the opportunity, I will display to the entire world the heart of a true champion." Minto added.

So these are the guy's who are willing to face Wlad on short notice. Of course, the 1st choice should be Chagaev, even thought with his style ( small skilfull hw without a big punch ) I think it's gonna be an easy Wlad win unless he is really willing to suffer to get inside, and from the reports, it seems Wlad is trying to make this fight. On the list, the only acceptable one is Ruiz, he fought in Germany before, all close fights against Valuev and Chagaev ( except for Valuev I wich was a clear win for him ) so he got some reputation over there. Minto is rubbish, Solis is fat, unproven and unimpressive and Johnson, while an interesting prospect, is way too unproven

I can't believe nobody else even caught it. Cupey and Hex haven't said anything about it either.

    What's the story Hex-Cupey-One?

Not heavy-weight boxing. No. I think I made that pretty clear, didn't I? I especially can't stand watching Wlad fight. He's just a big stinker. His brother I can stomach but I can't see anyone beating him so what is the point?

I find it pretty amazing though that the focus on 'holding' produces phenomenal attention in fights featuring Wlad but,.. it's tolerated and celebrated as fundamentally 'old school' brilliance in Bernard Hopkins repertoire? Infact in a Hopkins fight you'll see a proud and thorough lockdown in action, with more clinches, less punches, less engaging, and no knockout,.. with that in mind, and with so many other subtle examples in boxing, things become clearer as you cancel out all the contradictory pipelines of vicarious hatred, and begin to focus on the execution of the spin, rather than the spin itself. I am not referring to you though in particular, you've addressed the issue concerning the benchmark of boxing cancer before.

why would he bitch out of a fight that he desperately tried to get since last year?

I have never seen anybody target the Klitchkos the way David Haye has. I think it's legit.

I honestly rather see Haye against Wlad than any other heavyweight. I hope they re-schedule the fight instead of cancelling it.

it is TOO big a fight to pass up

the Euro's love both these guys. .

and why would Wlad waste his timie fighing some bum like Kevin whatever his name is or some other unknown guy for little money?

who cares about those kinda fights..

let's see him just postpone and fight Haye!

this is one fight I really really wanna see

It's not a matter of a fight, it's a matter of a flash in the pan outcome, and it's a very desperate one at that.

Wlad-Chagaev seems like a done deal now. And in historical sense, if it happens, it is the more important fight (as Chagaev is universally recognized #3 of the division). Of course it does not have the same electricity in it Wlad-Haye would have had
