Ruslan Chagaev is the new opponent of IBF, WBO and IBO World Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko on June 20 in the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. http://fightbeat.com/news_details.php?NW=22113
Nah. He is an almost perfect copy of Sultan Ibragimov, just a bit better photoshopped. He doesn't have any weapons to attack Wlad with
That´s selling Chagaev short. He has beaten two very big fighters in Virchis and Valuev, plus Ruiz is never an easy out. Ibragimov had beaten nobody, was dropped by Ray Austin and scared of Holyfield and Briggs. It was obvious he´d be spooked by Wladimir. At least you can give your favourite Wlad (and Chagaev) some credit for making what is bascially a full unification bout, short of Vitali. :bears: It seems weird HBO is not interested in a full unification fight to hype the brother as the real champion, but it seems no G connection equals no airtime. :shit:
I agree Chagaev has the bit better record, though his narrow win over Virchis and struggle against Skelton do not look as good now. The things is, I don't see him having any element on which he could base his strategy on. I don't think he will let Wlad walk to a free victory the way Sultan did though
Without wishing to retract from my erstwhile expressed disgust at the HW division, this is actually a vaguely intesting fight. Who would have thought it? MTF
Chagaev will be prepared for Wlad's size considering he's been training with huge sparring partners for a while now. I think he's gonna show Wlad some angles and movement. Wlad could be made to work for a while. Chagaev has a chance IMO.
As boring as Wlad's fights have been lately, Chagaev is even more uninspiring fighter. His win here would be good though since then after he fought Vitali we would have a clear heavyweight champion again
that's what I'm scared of. Chagaev will have to show massive heart to have a chance to win this fight, but we don't know if he has it in him. If he's a bit of a tin man like Sultan was, it'll be the same boring script all over again
Should be interesting alot of media says Chagaev has been reported to have Hep C for a number of years now. :nono: Not a good look.
no one cares about these clowns for real although I'm not sure I see it but the best thing now would be for a posponment and then have Haye-Wlad and have Haye just dominate him and stretch him. that would bring some excitment to the division
Chagaev grows with the challenges and steps up his game. Only 24 hours after signing to fight Wlad he has upgraded from Hep B to Hep C. :bears: It´s Hep B. ;)
is cagarve or whatever his name is he will prolly run a resturant in germany or something, maybe become a bartender in Wales
