I have always believed that the best time to catch someone in a submission is early when the sweating is on the body. This was a great example IMO. Lawler will be back. This loss didnt take anything out of Lawler. He is lucky his loss was this way and not after a long battle
REED Can't DISagree w/your Assessment of THE WAY Diaz's Shots Look, but they're UNDENIABLY EFFECTIVE...His Punches R Loooooooooooooooooong, ACCURATE & Seemingly NEVERENDING...Plus, Diaz Mixes Up SPEEDs & the Amount of POWER he Places Behind his Shots... & he's THE BEST Bodypuncher REED has Seen in MMA... No Doubt, Diaz's Punches LOOKED Ugly & REED's More of a NATE Diaz Fan, but Nick is a B.M.F. (Bad Motherfucker) Also... REED:hammert:
:: Arlovski's Body WENT LIMP Against the Cage, Dude...If McCarthy HADN'T Stopped it, Arlovski would STILL B Lying on the Canvas, UNCONCIOUS...INITIALLY, REED Thought it was a Bad Stoppage, but the Replay CLEARLY Shows that it was a GOOD Stoppage... REED:hammert:
agREED... Arlovski WENT LIMP Against the Cage, Fell to the Canvas & was in a DefenseLESS Position on the Ground...A SADIST May have Let it Go a Tad Fuuuuurther, but it WASN'T a Bad Stoppage... REED:hammert:
As Good & PROMISING as Rogers has Looked, he ISN'T Ready for Fedor...Rogers is Still MUCH Tooooooooo BASIC in his Approach to B a Viable Option for Fedor...But Seeing as How Relatively THIN the NON-UFC Heavyweight Division is, U're Probably Right about it Happening Later this Year.... REED:hammert:
I would have like John to let it go for a cople of seconds more, sure Arlovski was rocked but he seemed to have recuperated when he hitted the ground. Watching the replay, I can't say it was a bad stoppage but personnaly, I think letting it go just a tad longer would have been better
The Funny Thing about Shields-Lawlor is that Robbie was CLEARLY Winning the Fight Right Up Until he Got Guillotined... REED::
Really? I thought Shields was winning. They kept saying that Shields looked uncomfortable in the middle of the ring. While that was true, he was the only one throwing.
Honestly, REED Can't Recall a Single POSITIVE Moment for Shields UNTIL he Put the Guillotine on... Lawlor was OUTMUSCLING him, Tossing him Around like a Rag Doll & even HURT Shields w/Some Strikes...Shields even Admitted in the Post-Fight Interview that he QUICKLY Could Tell that he COULDN'T Match Strength w/Lawlor... Nonetheless, it was an IMPRESSIVE Performance from Shields, to Weather the Bigger Man's Advances & Tap him Out like That...There's Obviously MORE to MMA than Size.... REED:hammert:
I've never seen Cotto laugh or smile in my life!! :: If theres any gifs pics or video's of it I would pay to see them.
REED CAN'T Recall the Name of it, but Cotto was on Some Rican Show where he "Let His Hair Down" Quite a Bit...The Host was Pretty Much OVER the Top, which was a Good Fit 4 Cotto's Personality... REED:hammert:
For as washed up as Roy is, if they had a boxing match, and Diaz tried those Wii Boxing punches, Roy would probably laugh at him before battering him. They may be effective in MMA with the small gloves, but with regular boxing gloves, Roy, or any experienced boxer, would pick off every single one of them. TFK
Shields did a great job last night in weathering Lawlers storm and sinking in the sub. I rally thought that Lawler would eventually catch him as Shields stand up is pretty bad. Just shows how you can't be 1 dimensional in MMA anymore. Diaz rally impressed last night. Dude reminds me of tall Paul the way he fights. Tons of punches from all angles non-stop. But, he also has a world class ground game. Tough as hello too. Totally outclassed Smith. Again, too 1 dimensional. It was a great win for Rogers. I am really suprised how hyped Arlovski's boxing is. The dude backed straight up with his chin in the air as Rogers rained down punches. Not circling or tying him up as he should have. As good of a win as it was for Rogers, im not sold on him. I tend not to buy into a hype when it is due to a money punch early victory. I still want to see more from the dude before they even mention Fedors name in the same sentence. Good win for Riggs. I always love seeing people shutting Baloni 's trap. I was disappointed in Randleman. I have always loved to watch him fight and he is one of my favorites of the sport. However age, past injury and ring rust had gotten the better of him last night. The guy looked nothing like he used to. Both physically and the way he fought. At 38, I think he should call it a career.
Diaz always reminded me of Troy Dorsey. Throws a ton of punches, has very little power, and has usually lost about a gallon of blood within the first minute of the fight. TFK
Who's Talking about Fedor???:dunno:... Was Arlovski a BETTER Striker than Rogers???...For what it's Worth, Rogers is Soooooooooo UNPROVEN N Every Other Regard BUT Striking, that REED Doesn't Think Fedor will Attempt to OUTstrike him... He'll Look for TAKEDOWNS N REED's Opinion... REED:hammert:
I am explaining to you why he is a better striker. Arlovski is a better striker but obviously hes done now. His chin sucks and hes been Ko'd a bunch of times. He was actually winning against Fedor before he did the dumbest shit ever and jumped in the air for no reason. Fedor can beat the shit out of Rogers standing or on the ground. It's a total mismatch either way.
If U're a So-Called Striker & an Opponent KO's U w/a Strike(s), HOW Can U B BETTER???...Arlovski TRIED to OutStrike Rogers AND Fedor & Even Though he Had Degree of "Success" Against Fedor, ULTIMATELY Arlovski WASN'T a Superior Enough Striker for ANYBODY to Label him "Better" @ it than those 2... Skilled "Boxers" Get OUTboxed During Portions of Fights, but it Doesn't Automatically Make the Opponent BETTER @ Boxing... REED:mj:
It was funny seeing Arlovski standing next to Michael Moorer. I haven't seen so much glass in one place since....since....since I was in a place that had a hell of a lot of glass. TFK
Diaz seriously punches like a girl. It's funny to watch, I know he can hit harder than he does, he just wants to put gloves on your face and it's been very effective lately. Scott Smith had nothing for Diaz. Diaz is one hell of a fighter though, girly punch or not, he is good.
he does what a lot of boxers and mma fighters should do....focuses on speed and volume, rather than just power. Calzaghe does the same thing....plus he has the range, and a good sense of it, to not get caught that often himself. Smith's defence was shocking, i mean, if you aren't gonna use your hands to protect your face, then at least use some head-movement....or vice versa Anyone else seen Diaz's interview on sherdog?....i like the guy. Being an MMA noob i got him confused with Nate Diaz when i saw the card line up....now that guy is a complete twat.
Nate is actually the more low key brother. Not sure why you would hate him. I like both Diaz brothers. They are funny dudes. They talk shit but they usually back it up.
