I didnt start one cause I'm kinda meh about this matchup. Josh Clottey has a negative style that I hate watching.

Shit honestly... I'm more looking forward to Ortiz-Maidana in a few weeks than I am Cotto-Clottey.

Clottey high/tight guard and counter punching might make it a stinker...but i think Clottey is open for body shots..his guard is not as tight as Winky was back then...Clottey leave his body open when opponents throw at his face..he covers up but stick his elbows out...hopefully team Cotto won't allow him to wear the trunks too high.

At least in this fight we will know if Margarito Plaster took anything from Cotto...

In other words if Clottey wins it means all credit is do to the plaster beating not to Clottey. Typical.

Cotto TKO10. I've been a study of this match up for two mths. I finally cracked it; Clottey is too stationary. Great guard but once Cotto steps around ala Mosley fight he will open him up. Look for Cotto's Left and corner RT. hook to be weapon and right uppercut through the guard. Ole school style with the thumb up not palm up; so it fits through guard! That's game for free youngsters! LOL:slap:

Cotto UD in a stinker, boring fight where Cotto will finish more hurt than Clottey.

    Cotto UD!

I like Clottey to make it a close fight but somehow I just can't pick him against all the top 147 fighters.

He has enough to come close but not to pull it off.

Clottey is going to punch Cotto in the temple with a right hand and win via TKO. He will set it up with the left hookercut. Big upset saturday night.

clottey better do a lot to separate himself in at least 8 or 9 rounds if he wants to win a decision over cotto in msg during the parade weekend. highly doubtful clottey can stop cotto when he couldn't even finish off corrales.

I just don't believe in Clottey. I don't think he has that extra gear that will get him over the hump. Now that don't mean he won't have any moments which he will early. I look for Cotto to wear Clottey down and stop him in the 9-10 round. I'll Holla 5000

Cotto by tight decision in a fight which only purists will find remotely entertaining and where Clotttey will make Cotto miss a hell of a lot.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Wouldn't surprise me if the left hook on the temple did the job in fact.

Cotto tucks his chin well, but even when he's hit on it, there's usually no visible result. It's shots to his temple that take his legs away. As a matter of fact, as strong as Margarito's chin is apparently, he's susceptible to shots on the temple too. Watch his second fight with Santos. He gets seriously hurt in the first round by a shot to the temple.

    Cotto UD.

Clottey will do alright early, but it will get worse for him as the fight wears on. I think he'll be trying not to get KO'd late in the fight and in survival mode for the last 2-3 rounds. Clear UD win for Cotto.

Good point. But Corrales folded half-way through the fight and reverted to survival mode. And he was hurt several times. And Corrales, while he gets knocked down a lot, has only truly been knocked out once - by an over-weight Castillo.

Cotto too has shown amazing will in the face of being hurt. For example in his fight with Torres. But I don't know if Cotto has the tools or temperment to revert to survival mode if the going gets tough. Although in my mind it's pretty much what he did against N'dou who nearly chased him out of the ring in the final rounds.

I don't think Clottey is boring to watch at all. He has a good defense, doesn't tend to hold, throws nice combinations, likes to fight going forward. He kind of reminds me of Quartey although he not as talented, but may have better hand-speed.

I don't see why people expect this fight to be boring. I think it will be awesome.

Gonna be a statement fight for Cotto....He gonna bust up Clottey big time in the latter half of the fight...
Needs to show people that he is still the goods after getting cheated and Clottey will be the example to be made..

    Late stoppage by Cotto

What worries me about Cotto is that he looked not as determined nor as sharp and fast in his last fight. The Cotto that fought Jennings will be KTFO by Clottey. If the Cotto that fought Mosley shows up on Saturday night, it could be lights out for Clottey!
