Gotta give it to Faber though man, he is a fucking WARRIOR. Having a broken hand is no joke in MMA. Not only can you not punch with your power hand, but you allso cant get a good grip for takedowns or submissions. Not to mention using your grip to get out of submissions and chokes.

I love Faber, he brings it every time.

Riggs had a broken hand early in his fight with Baroni but we didn't even notice it, that's what real fucking warriors do, not complaint and run all night long to use it as an excuse for the inevitable loss. Don't get me wrong, Faber showed some heart but also showed a share of softness, but listening to the announcers ( boy their bias was horrible, one of the worst commentating job i ever seen ) you'd assume Brown only won becausbe Faber broke his hand

Bullshit. Riggs didn't have no broken fucking hand. He just used that as an excuse because he couldn't finish a bum in Baroni. He was punching with that hand all night. Riggs is full of shit, always has been. Do your homework.

Even if riggs didn't broke his hands, there is plenty of example of fighter still fighting to win after breaking their hands and still punching with authority with the hand they broke. Faber pretty much ran after the 3th round and stopped trying to win save from a lucky sub. It still take some hearth to just go the limit with an injury but not to the extent you and the WEC cheerleaders seems to imply

Please cite some of your examples.

You are a moron if you think that Faber ran and stopped trying to win. He actually made it a decent fight for 4 rounds with a broken hand. Just because he wasn't using the broken hand, which is usually the case if you know anything about combat sports, doesn't mean he wasnt trying to win.

From the top of my head, Belfort vs Martin, koed Martin with his broken hand
Gatti broke his hand vs Ward but still punished him with it
Benji Radach broke his hands in his war vs Smith but that didn't stop him from punching and trying to win
I remember hearing about Danny William koing someone with a displace shoulder, his arm was literrally hanging to his side

Faber was in survival mode in the 4th and 5th, I may be a moron for beliving this but I think it's more a case of me not drinking the, obviouly displayed, koolaid. But I guess this kind of insult is what to expect when you argue over the internet with fanboy

I'd love to see Aldo fight Faber before getting a shot at Brown, would make the matchup far bigger ( as of now I doubt it's a good seller ) if he wins or could set a 3rd match between Faber and Brown wich would sell easilly with the broken hand angle

I can't believe people questioning Faber's heart after this fight. At no point did he give up or stop trying to win. The guy fought his ass off with the limbs that were intact. Faber is a fucking warrior and that is all there is to it. To even last 5 rounds with a monster like Brown and STILL be competitive after breaking your hand in the second round is impressive to me.

I really like both of these guys, two very good fighters and both seem like great guys. I hope they square off again in the future. Faber will certainly work his way back to the top, let's hope Brown is still there when he gets there.

Jesus christ, that is a PROPER break, not just a fracture. Damn.

Faber must have brittle hands or bad hand wrapping techniques, because he doesn't hit particularly hard.

You cant be serious. Gatti?? Williams??? That is boxing bro, bigger gloves, more padding, no clinches...lol.

As far as Belfort goes, he broke his thumb. I know this because I spoke to him after the fight. Big difference, you can still punch with a broken thumb.

explain to me how bigger gloves help when you have a dislocated shoulder as william had?

And what about couture who broke his arm againt gonzaga, whose a good 30 pounds bigger than him, and still manage to beat the fuck out of him.

faber fan boy are patethic, nobody's says that he lack heart, just that he didn't do anything incredible

that is just ridiculous, you can punch just as much with a broken 4th and 5htm metacarp than a broken thumb. In either case, the broken bone aren't suppose to land ( you're suppose to hit with the knuckles of only the 2th and 3th metacarp ). I had both a broken thumb and pretty much the same fracture Urijah had ( only my 4th metacarp wasn't broke completely, it's not nearly as bad as you make it out to be, at first I didn't even thought it was broken and only went to the hospital 10 days after ) and in my opinion, the thumb was worse when I was trying to puch, espcially considering it was the left hand and is pretty much where you land a left hook if you don't completely turn it over ( thought Belfort is a southpaw so a broken left thumb is probably less of a problem ). And yes boxer has bigger glove to protect a hand fracture but they are also only limited to their hands, imo, they are at even more of a disadvantage than a MMA fighter with a broken hand

Fact is, MMAers and boxers are in the hurt business, injuries do occur and borken hands is one of the most common no matter how much you want it to make it seem like it was exceptionnal. Some deal with it like it's nothing while showing true warrior heart, other use it as an excuse to quit.

Urijah, imo, stand in the middle like most fighters do, he did put a gutsy showing for 3 rounds in spite of it but he let it affect his performance way too much in the 4th and 5th and seems way too happy to use it as an excuse for the loss to my taste. Thing is, why didn't he threw the left with authority in the 4th and 5th when he had to knew he needed to do something big to win the fight ??? People on forums and the commentators were claiming he had broke both hands and that's why he was slapping with them and avoiding exchanges with Brown ( sure that would have played into Brown hands but Urijah had to take those risks at this point in the fight to expect to win ). Sure the broken hand didn't help, and it a mother fucking bad break for him that it happened in the biggest fight of his carreer, but the main reason He fought this way in the 4th and 5th is because Brown broke his will and wanted it more than him

Exactly, broken hands are a commone injuries in combat sport but Z and BOBnweave make it seems like it's a once in a decade occurence and claiming that Faber did something exceptionnal by lasting the distance with one is a poorly disguised attempt at making excuses for Urijah while discrediting Brown win

BTW, Belfort claims he broke his hand in 2 place, the thumb and index finger, wich is pretty much the worst place to break your hand if your in a fight

XC: Where is your hand broken?

Vitor: Two places. At the base of my thumb and at the base of the index finger. I don’t need surgery. The doctor says 4 weeks in the brace and then I will be OK.

I picked Brown to win dipshit. When exactly did I try to discredit Brown?

Show me or shut the fuck up. It wasn't just lasting the distance with a broken hand, it was lasting the distance with a fucking monster like Brown.

Paulie Malignaggi has won like 10 fights with a broken hand...

    best ever?:bears:

Seriously though, obviously impressive to continue fighting with a broken hand...but he already got worked by Brown. Why not ask for a third fight instead of showing the break 500 times?

    Damn Dude...

This Forum MADE REED a Fan of MMA...REED Checked Out a Few Topics, Felt LEFT OUT & Started Watching the Sport...REED Can HONESTLY Attribute his MMA Fandom to TFK & BOB N' WEAVE...TFK Kept this Forum Moving & BOB N' WEAVE Told REED YEARS Ago that "T.U.F." SHITTED on "The Contender", which it Does...

REED Still isn't COMFORTABLE Enough w/his MMA Knowledge to Branch Out to Places like Sherdog, but REED Thinks this Forum is Pretty Cool...SMALL, but Cool Nonetheless....
