.....or Haye?....Vitali has told the BBC that it is a fight that still interests him

It's ridiculous that Arreola is being considered for a title fight

Maybe, but I would love to see him get stopped. That fat big is going to take a beating. He has no chance versus Vitali. He would have a minimal chance against the chinless Wlad.

Chris has a better shot at Wlad than anyone not named Haye. Because he'll actually come at Wlad, and does actually have aztec-punches/power.

Chris Arreola has not been in the gym a day since his ko over McCline my sources within his camp tell me.

Also; he was spotted by a poster here recently consuming great quantities of beer at a professional fight card in Houston, the one in which his sparring partner beat the previously undefeated heavyweight Gene Hill.

The next day at an amateur event here, he spent the entire card gorging himself on hot dogs and nachos, and drinking large soda after large soda.

Does this sound like a guy that is giving himself the best opportunity to win?

I gave him a good shot earlier, but now..no way.

Why don't you give him a pep talk, Stinger? It's obvious the boy has no guidance.

Ringsidemike is the one that saw him drink and eat all that stuff that is going to hurt his wind big time.

    Arreola I don't think gives a shit.

Didn't Arreola just hire a stength and conditioning coach?

This reminds me of a clip I saw during a Giants game of Rod Beck eating a hot dog.

Sources close to me tell me about Arreolas unwillingness to train and lack of adequate diet. This is coming from a friend of mine who shares some mutual friends with him. Apparently he doesn't take training seriously and is too concerned with partying. He was able to get away with it considering the level of opposition he has faced in the past. But at the next level, it will cost him fights.

It might take a loss for him to take the sport more serious.

That may depend on who the loss is to.

If he's fortunate enough to get paid nicely for a loss, maybe he falls off the map like Ibragimov did.

It's not like he's done anything up til now to earn a title/money fight, maybe if he lands and loses he'll simply be satisfied with all the Corona's he can buy with that purse.

Darn. Depending on how much Maskaev has left, I would've liked to see this fight. Maskaev is good at landing those short straight right hands, which may have been effective if he could get under Vitali's darting right hands. I think at least a prime Maskaev could've beaten Vitali to the punch this way. Not sure about now. But would've liked to see him try. He certainly would not have fought like a puss the way Chagaev did.

Chagaev's performance reminded me of one of Abdullaev's crap performances, characterize by an absolute refusal to take any chances. And what's ironic about these types of fighters is they end up getting hit anyways. As we saw in Chagaev's loss and in Abdullaev's.

Juarez is a little guilty of this himself, but his better hand-speed affords him greater success. Chagaev's and Abdullaev's approach of refusing to trade in the name of not getting hit is why they'll never beat an elite fighter. And when it comes to Abdullaev, who I think is retired, I mean, "never."

If this fight actually comes off, Valuev is going to look like a ghoul by the time the fight is over. He's got nothing to make Vitali nervous in his offensive arsenal and has good enough of a chin to take a long and brutal beating.

    This might be ugly.

Maskaev might have actually afforded some fireworks before he got KTFO in brutal fashion.

That said there needs to be an over / under line on when this fight gets Postponed/Cancelled.

Adbullaev made a comeback after three and a half years yesterday, won a 6 round UD.

Maskaev was half of what may have been the ugliest display of "championship" boxing ever last year.

The title should've been vacated after the fight, and both been placed on suspenion.

Yes Vitali will win,.. and perhaps win every round,... but he WILL NOT stop him, or neccessarily look impressive either,... his defence of 'arching up' as shown in his fight with Lennox Lewis, is useless against anyone of near equal height,..and his power emphatically DECREASES..as his arm punches rely on the help of gravity to hammer down the impact,... this will be a sloppy, awful spectacle,..and I'd prefer Wlad be the one to take on the 'height rivals' ....as Vitali should instead go and put Haye to sleep.

Yeah. I missed the fight. Was it his rematch with Rahman? If so, my bet is it had more to do with Rahman's relatively recently adopted lazy style of holding every minute of every round than a lack determination to win on the part of Maskaev.

If Valuev musters any courage he could possibly win this fight. But it's as if he doesn't realize how large he is, kind of like McCline.

He's stronger than Vitali and like I said, if he has any fire in his belly at all, could push Vitali against the ropes and do a job on him. It's too bad he doesn't seem to have a good trainer.

If he adopted a more American style it's difficult to imagine his not beating the hell out of most of the contenders out there. But for some reason, he fights like he's Larry Donald or something. Very strange.

  28. KaukipRrr

    KaukipRrr "Twinkle Toes" McJack

Vitali will still move and bend himself around like a big Carlos Maussa as usual,.. Valuev would never get the chance to push and trap him against the ropes,.. and if he did it wouldn't matter anyway,.. Vitali absorbed all of Lennox Lewis's wild, psychotic, hail mary shots,.. he's far too durable for Valuev's soft prods,... see that's the thing that makes the Klitschko's and Lennox Lewis, 'freaks',.. .. they have horse hearts,.. the kind that allows them to move 250llbs around like normal sized people and retain punching power in respect of that weight,.. ....Valuev on the other hand,... 330+ lbs ..is too much weight,..he IS compromised, his punches have no snap..

Valuev beat Vitali? Is there some other fighter out there named Valuev that I've never seen? You cannot be talking about that lumbering 7 foot oaf.

WTF is wrong with you Double L? You talk all kinds of shit about Wlad yet you want to see that old out of shape loser Maskaev in a freaking title fight?
