I can't blame Cro-Cop, as clearly his best days are behind him and I can't see him beating any of the UFC's top heavyweights. But it's actions like this that are why White won't do a 1 time only deal with Fedor. It's just not in the best interests of the company

If CroCop got 150K or so, then I'd say Dana got f*cked. But I'd like to see what CroCop was or will make in Dream.

Cro-Cop is worth much more to Dream than he is to the UFC. He's a much bigger star in Japan than he is in the US, where most fans only know him as the guy who got his head taken off and leg twisted by Gabriel Gonzaga.

And in Dream, he can fight fight the Hong Man Choi's of the world all he wants, and it'll still be a major event over there. If he can't beat Gonzaga or Kongo, he's got no chance against UFC fighters like Lesnar, Mir, Carwin, Velasquez or Dos Santos.

He's much more gun shy. Just not the same guy from Pride. Here in the UFC, he just waits and waits.:dunno: The warrior in him is gone.

You are jumping the gun big time, sure Crocop is way past his prime but I think he is live, or at the very least a solid test vs any of these guys

TFK's motto is: "What have you done for me lately?"
Regardless, Cro is definitely not carrying the same confidence as he used to but that happens when you lose a few fights. He can still be competitive. I wouldn't bet my ass that he'd lose to the likes of Carwin or Mir to name a few.

I agree. If it were Crocop in there with Cain instead of Kongo, Cain would have been stopped.

That's what I am thinking too, Kongo was a great win for Cain but it did exposed him big time and shows he still has a lot to learn before competing with the A guy's ( fortunuately he's young so he has more than enough time to do so). Maybe Crocop is not an A guy anymore but he got much better takedown defense than Kongo

I doubt it. Velasquez has a lot to learn, but he was a blanket on Kongo. Kongo just couldn't shake him off. It's not the prettiest style, but it was effective. If he can learn submissions to take advantage of those situations, and sharpen up his striking, he can be real dangerous.

Cro-Cop, on the other hand, couldn't put away Al-Turk without an eye poke. Cro-Cop has looked awful ever since Gonzaga took his head off. A win against Choi means nothing. He looked terrible against Overeem and against Kongo. He's become gun shy and just can't pull the trigger any more.

He's better of in Japan. Maybe they'll save a spot for him in the next Super Hulk Tournament.

I am absolutely sure of it. As gun shy as Crocop is these days, he has always been a good finisher, and he has pretty good takedown defense.

Kongo looked retarded in there as far as avoiding the takedowns go. People watching the fight where I was were actually laughing at how pathetic hit takedown defense/ground game was.

Cro-Cop mave have been a good finisher, but I don't think he is anymore. He hasn't stopped a decent fighter since beating Barnett and Wandy on the same day 3 years ago.

Reading this thread reminds me of all of us Tyson fans who never wanted to believe he was done. That there was no way in hell Danny Williams could beat Iron Mike, let alone Kevin McBride:doh:

Crocop is done. He will never again beat a top ten HW. Let it go. I was a big fan of his in Pride. But like Hanz said, he is gun-shy, and not that same warrior from Pride.

TFK is right, he would be good in Dream. Japan loves him. And the level of their HW's serve him decently.

Cain would smother Crocop, as would Carwin and Lesnar. Kongo beat Crocop fairly easily and uneventful. The only marketable matchup for him was the winner of Nog/Randy.

Just read an interview on Shedog, CroCop trying to claim the eye poke didn't lead to the stoppage in his last fight. lol

He's better off in Japan, he'll be able to win there. He ain't winning in the UFC anymore, not against anyone in the top 10 anyway.

The report is Cro-Cop will be fighting Mighty Mo at Dream 10.

This is the reason why Cro-Cop is better off fighting in Japan. Because these are the kind of fights he can win, and the Japanese fans will eat it up. If he stayed in the UFC, he'd have to fight legit heavyweights. In Japan, he can fight bums like Mighty Mo, and people there will still think it means something.

Who cares really. He's not good enough to make it in the UFC, he needs to get his ass to the land of the freak show and be a rockstar for whooping up on scrubs.

Yes, a man who helped take the UFC from it's death bed, to a billion dollar company, he's a real dipshit.

MMA has proven it's not a fad. I'm not sure why that makes you so angry.

    Actually make that 100%.

He might have done well to get the UFC to where it is, but that doesn't mean he's not an utter cock that skanks the fighters.

What's funny about that is EVERY MMA fighter on earth would love to fight for the UFC. It's funny when guys complain about the way fighters are treated yet the fighters themselves don't even complain.

That's because they have no other options, the UFC has created a monopoly.

The fighters deserve more money, end of story. Not as much as boxers, but more than they get.

They didn't create a monopoly. They just created a better product. Pride was huge, but they shit the bed financially. Elite XC had the CBS contract and they too, shit the bed. If you are an exceptional fighter, you don't need the UFC. You have several options. You may have to fight in Japan or some other country, but there are plenty of organizations. Its just the UFC is the biggest and most established, therefore they get to call the shots.
