There's Probably Been Pro Wrestlers AS STRONG as Lesnar, MORE Athletic or AS BIG...But there's NEVER Been a Pro Wrestler that COMBINED ALL of those Characteristics into the SAME PACKAGE, as Lesnar Does.... Goldberg WASN'T as BIG...AND, Goldberg was INJURY PRONE... So U're Telling REED that U'd FAVOR Kurt Angle to Walk into an Octagon 2Morrow & BEAT Brock Lesnar????.... REED:boohoo:
LOL at ruling the roost. Anyways, I tend to agree with you regarding the WWE argument. There are many good athletes that turn to the WWE due to the large amount of money that they can make. Especially wrestlers. Once done with their amateur careers, what is left? Coach in college? They simply go to where the money is. This doesn't diminish from their abilities.
So Because ONE GUY Came from WWE to Win the UFC Heavyweight Title, that Automatically Proves that ANY Professional Wrestler Could Win the UFC Heavyweight Title????... REED::
what I'm saying is that you're heavily on Lesnar's jock because of his couple of decent performances in the UFC and you're not looking at the big picture. All this crap about "Nobody has Brock's strength, size, and agility in one package" is gonna mean f*ck all if he gets his ass kicked. He's already been submitted once. What makes you think he's this unstoppable machine? Just because he beat up a 45 year old inactive deteriorated Randy Couture and a Frank Mir who's gotten his ass kicked a bunch of times before? Come on REED.
But I thought everyone has been telling me this sport is progressing? If a good, big wrestler can come in and dominate.... how is that different from the early days of UFC when guys like Dan Severn and Don Frye could come in with little experience in "no holds barred" and dominate everyone?
Hey if Tim Sylvia could win the title and keep defending it for as long as he did, you'd be surprised what some guys from pro wrestling could do if they took MMA seriously.
Good wrestling is usually enough to make a splash in the UFC. A bit of boxing added doesn't hurt. Severn and Coleman were good wrestlers hence their success in the UFC during their primes.
Difference is Brock Lesnar ISN"T dominating everyone. He dominated Mir who has been dominated by many and a geriatric Couture. Give him some more fights and see if he can keep it up.
It's Been Said MANY Times that Pro Wrestling is a "Soap Opera for MEN"...There's Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Toooooooooooo MUCH T & A Involved to Say that Pro Wrestling is "For Children"... REED:hump:
Could be a flash in the pan for all we know. He hasn't really beaten a top flight prime fighter yet. Couture was semi retired and lost all his muscle mass by the time he fought Lesnar and Mir was never the dominating type. The division is in a poor state.
He has two incredibly decisive wins in a row over the clear two top guys in the UFC heavyweight division. There's no question that Brock is the best heavyweight in the UFC right now, IMO anyways.
So Basically, U're Gonna Sit on the Sidelines CRITICIZING Lesnar After Every Fight & Then Somewhere Down the Road, U're Gonna Play the "I TOLD U So Card", when he Loses???... Yeah, Lesnar's Been Submitted but he was Winning EVERY MOMENT of that Fight UNTIL the Ankle Lock.... REED:mj:
But you see how this is history repeating itself, right? He doesn't need a long list of wins to be compared to the Severn's, Frye's and Coleman's of the past. No one had longevity back then.
Who am I to complain about Lesnar's success? He's representing Pro Wrestling and doing a good job of it. Now if only Lashley does the same, we can ultimately have a UFC main event.....Lesnar vs Lashley for the UFC title.
I agree, people need to chill.Mir was a great win for a 2-1 fighter...THATS IT!!! As for Mir,other than beating a shot fighter and a newb,he's looked like ass since coming back from the accident.
Just because a wrestler beats a Jiujitsu fighter doesn't mean that the sport isn't progressing. Mir really isn't much more well rounded than Brock, and he is shot.
If U Like the IDEA of Violence, Have a Sense of HUMOR & Like Watching SCANTILY CLAD Women Parading Around, Pro Wrestling's Pretty COOL, Actually... REED:hammert:
Absolutely. Wrestlers these days UNDERSTAND Jiujitsu, practice sub defense, have boxing coaches and stress conditioning more. Totally different game now.
Correct REED if he's WRONG, but Didn't Lesnar Fight Mir in his 2nd MMA Fight EVER????...If So, Lashley is CLEARLY Taking a SAFER Route...Not Saying Lashley WON'T Pan Out, but he's NOT Taking the Abbreviated Course that Lesnar Took... REED:hammert:
Yet, a high level wrestler like Brock can become really good at MMA in less than three years. Pretty quick to learn all of those things.
Agreed, and Lesnar should be commended for that. Also, check out some quotes from the pro wrestling TNA and WWE stars after Lesnar's win last night: Jeremy Borash: “Brock is a strong heel. Take it from yours truly... Minnesotans are tough. Might try some MMA. I could destroy that nerdy Bruce Buffer.†Matt Hardy: "Yeah Brock! Reppin' the toughness of "<input name="IL_MARKER" type="hidden">WWE" guys by making Mir & the non-believers eat their words! We popped HUGE 4 your post fight promo!" Matt Morgan: “God, I wanna punch every mma fan in here right now!! To all Lesnsr haters: suck on that! Mir ran his mouth, Brock shut him up.†<input name="IL_MARKER" type="hidden">Bobby Lashley: “WWE star Brock Lesnar won by brutual ground and pound!†Samoa Joe: “I just made so much money Two minutes ago it hurts. There you go Brock baby way to bring it home.†Shane “Hurricane“ Helms: "Mir, what do you think of Pro Wrestlers now after getting your ass handed to you and getting beat in a completely one-sided fight!"
Brock's strength indeed helps him considerably. That's one thing that can't be taught in any MMA gym. He's genetically gifted there with his blend of strength and agility.
U're FAILING to Acknowledge the Possibility that Brock Lesnar is EXCEPTIONAL, Steve-Dave...Just Because HE Did it that DOESN'T Automatically Mean ANY Pro Wrestler can Do It.... REED:hammert:
